Aside from not understanding why anyone would want to do this... I believe it would be better for you to find someone to trade with. There have been enough threads through the days of people wanting to trade or swap auto to manual, so you should be able to find someone.

i guess people cant make up there minds rather or not they want manual or auto...is it worth the conversion the answer is no if you got the money to spend like that then more power to you...this is the first ive heard of a person from 5 speed wanted to go to auto...it would be the opposite on what i would do

U would need a couple parts.
-Auto flywheel
-tq converter
-auto trans
-Auto ECU
-auto wire harness
-auto fluid lines
-auto radiator
-auto shifter linkage
the 5 speed to auto swap would be harder then the other way. Becuase you have to have all these parts to make it work

Hopefully you ment auto to 5-spd. If so look in the stickied topics at the top of the Drivetrain and power. There is a thread for this!

The stock tranny is of the worst manuals I've ever driven. If there was a viable 6 speed auto or manual swap I would seriously consider it. I'm about to order the poly engine mounts, I think the engine movement is altering the transmission to Linkage geometry enough to cause binding. If that's the case then the shifting smoothness and feel should increase to acceptable levels once the engine's movement is restrained.

Good luck with your Manual to Auto swap

i've never had sloppy gear changes. that's a driver thing..

the gear ratios.. yea.. they're short.
best to just trade in the car.. dealing with an auto tranny transplant is more trouble than it's worth.

Why trade something in that's paid off... I would rather go throught the trouble of the swap in my buddies shop than hve a car payments. And btw the gear shift is very very sloppy, my old 5spd galant had a better feeling shift than the tc...

along with tcchris's list you may need a bracket or 2, and an auto cluster if you want one.

well the tc shifts fine, but in comparsion to my lsx gto its sloppy. Plus the tc is going to be the daily driver from now on.
