so i have the tanabe axle back now.... but im going to to headers and what not.... im gonna get the dme headers, and megan midpipe.... now my question is... in order for it to sound good.... should i..... get a high flow cat...or .. a res...or.. both..or..... or two res.
You really dont need anything else..... other than an s-pipe if you dont already have one. The megan mid section, which i have is a great product. It has two built in resonators which eliminates all the rasp out of my exhaust. You shouldnt need anything else, unless the tanabe is really loud and or throaty. I know my greddy sp2 sounds like a purr at idle and clear, mid-toned growl under full boost.
the exhaust on a turbocharged car is alot different sounding than NA...i would say one big resonator. i have the megan oe-rs axleback. megan midpipe and s pipe and dc header and it sounds raspy as hell between 2.5k and 3k rpm.
yea i hear ya about turbo exhausts sounding different (better) than a NA car. IMO, I wouldnt touch the section that has the res already. Since it comes in two different pieces, I would say maybe add a res. on the second pipe.... the one that attaches to the axel back. Really though, I wouldnt do anything to any of it. A little rasp is part of having an aftermarket exhaust. You start throwing in all different kinds of resonators and such and it could mess up the flow or cause more turbulance.
