I'm not sure if anyone has seen this yet but in the newest issue of Modified they install the AEM CAI. In the tC build up section. They say the new AEM CAI so is it out yet? or is this a prototype? It looks like a final product to me though.

 

It will be rebadged as a TRD CAI...as far as i know AEM wont be releasing a CAI...and the TRD one should be available at the in the middle of this month

the AEM CAI is for off road use onlyl.. if u read it its not CARB Legal.. and so is dc headers..

 

As far as I know noe of the CAI's out are CARB approved... but I could care less... doesnt matter in MN

The TRD one is CARB approved....but I could careless as well Texas is ultra lenient on emissions....ive seen cars pass that shouldnt be on the road anymore

 

And dont get me wrong... I do care about the environment... but CARB approval for an intake is one of the most retarted things I have ever seen. The emmissions laws in Cali have gotten so money driven and ridiculous it makes me sick. But, they also have horrible air quality in the cities, so they have to do something I guess. I just wish that some common sense was placed into the equation. Its funny that the twin cities has around 2 million people, no car inspections whatsoever, no overly harsh emmissions standards and has some of the cleanest air I have witnessed in a city. My in cabin air filter is 6 months old and I can barely see buildup on it, opposed to some of the others posting pics of thiers after 3 months... and they are solid black!!!! Scary

 

People are so friendly in Minnesota. I think that angry people (LA!) cause emissions.

I am originally from farther south... so MN was not quite as friendly to me... but it is pretty friendly... feel lucky, you could live in the NE

 

my toyota has the intake....is it indeed the same intake thats in the modified mag tho?
