you wont get much out of it, aem fic its good for turbo aplications, not for N/A. the reason is that the fic does not advance timing and you really need to advance timing on a N/A engine to get max gains. dont get me wrong it will definately improve your car but not to its potential.......

True. I have been tuning our shop xB2 with the APR X1 and it's been going quite well. Throttle is much more crisp and it's a touch more snappy throughout the power band.

paul thats nice and all but we all know for the price of that he can pick up a used turbo kit and hes already got a aem fic to tune it with =]..

now if he insist on a N/A setup and money is no prob then yes go with the apr unit..

I am afraid I don't understand your comment.

He's speaking about an AEM FIC being used for N/A and I do not feel it's the best choice because of it's lack of timing advance. I was stating that I have been N/A tuning the APR X1 and have been pleased even with the results of a stock xB2.

Regardless of pricing of the APR, even if he decides to go boost down the road, then he can use the X1 as well with that venture.

my comment was pretty much agreeing that the aem fic sucks for n/a, but also dissagreeing that the apr is worth the money for a n/a setup unless money was no option

i then went on to state for the money he would spend on the APR unit he could buy a used turbo kit and use his current fic . thus saving money and still doing things right

I have done 3 now N/A builds with this setup. One of which was on BC cams too. It works VERY well for those.

op i think its a great time to learn how to tune the fic so by the time you install your turbo you will have a better idea on what to do...Like stated before the fic isnt very good at all for n/a apps...its not going to hurt to learn to use the fic while n/a its just not going to provide much in the way of hp.
