Here's an easy mod with big gains. It's a little known technique (about as little known as attaching a hose to your airbox to vent cold air in) called an airbox to waterbox conversion.

Plug up your airbox and fill it with ice water. The more water, the less heat change there'll be so the water will stay colder if there's more. Also, while filling up the box, water will go down the intake tract which is OK because the throttle body will still be closed. You just need to be sure that you have enough water to fill the intake tract AND the box. This is because the water in the intake piping will get combusted very quickly. The reason for this is that the water in the piping will already have passed the filter (the air filter works just fine as a water filter but a simple mod would be to get one from a Brea water filter system for tap water.) That first rush of water is good because on water intake the engine needs that much water to start turning. After that, the engine will take in only enough water to make power.

Think about it, people have been making 5 or so whp gains with a decrease of intake temperature of about 10 or so degrees. That is still 90 degrees. With ice water, you'll have intake temperature at around 30 or 40 degrees.

There are some aftermarket airbox-waterbox conversion kits but they are hard to find and really only consist of material to plug the airbox. A fancy kit will have an ice maker that dispenses into the airbox.

Try this way and then tell us of the gains. If you don't feel the gains, post another three or four threads asking about intake options.
