Default After adding your Intake header Exhaust LOOSE LOW END?

I remember when I first got the TC I would chirp 1rst so easy on accident. Now even though I know I dyno 160 trq. to the ground. I still feel the bottom end may have lost what I picked up on the top. Anyone else feel this way?

Just curious.

Yep. By lowering your back pressure, you lose quite a bit of low end torque, but you gain power at higher RPMs making your gears more useful, especially in a tC where you start to lose power (hp) at about 4000 rpms and torque at about 5200 rpms. It should pull all the way to redline a lot better.

ahh wats teh arguement here?

tire chirping in 3rd gear? tats because your tires are broken in and provide optimal grip. not lik before where they slip a lot

Reportedly, an s pipe will regain the lost low end.

Back pressure is never a good thing. Back pressure only makes your efficiency max out lower.

yup. i took a poll in a previous thread and it was like 8 ppl felt that they lossed low end trq with a CAI whereas 6 or so felt they did not. i installed my injen cai today and definitely noticed a loss in the low end. before i felt a nice jump. but today it didnt feel as strong.

So a full exahaust would not cause a issues with lowend? I am unsure of my plans but might add a intake before winter. Not sure about anything else after that but may do the supercharger in spring.

how do you feel that you lose low end

when on dynos you gain HP and TQ through out the powerband...

its jus the matter of you gain MORE in the UPPER end etc

From what? I've seen dynos of lost lower RPS power with just a intake upgrade.

did the torque mark change on your dyno? has it moved up the RPM range at all, were their gains over the ENTIRE curve, or just on top?...analyze your dyno for the answer...

and butt dynos can fool you sometimes ;)

An intake can decrease your low end but an exhaust would be somewhat harder pressed to hurt your low end. A CAI can choke the engine at low RPMs and an SRS can more easily eat warmer air at low RPM so go figure.

I'm set up with a K&N Typhoon, MMW Header & S-pipe, and CC.com full cat-back.

Zero loss, I can still chirp 1st - 3rd....but that damn CEL is really ____ing me off....

Maybe it is just the throttle response...I dunno but I have a K&N, AW header CC s-pipe and custom mid straight to TRD exhaust and I KNOW I make more torq. over all but feel much of the low end pep is gone. I just remember thinking how much torque this car had but now its more like top end not bottom.

that's a negative, I'm pretty sure it's your header.

As much as I can't stand w-r, I love these headers. My throttle response has improved compared to stock. When I blip the peddle, it actually moves instead of waiting for a second like the 4spd does.

The W-R is dyno proven to show gains across the entire band....4-2-1 > 4-1

What someone needs to come out with is an ECU reflash or piggyback controller to compensate for the higher volume of incoming air. Damn MAF...
