I got a supercharger going in within a week or so. I want to know what to do about the air intake. I have a K&N cai now. I don't want them to use the stock air box. Any suggestions?
well, the only off the shelf s/c intake is made by weapon-r, but it tends to have unstable a/f ratios, so it is a crap shoot to use.
you can modify the k&n cai to fit. but why do you want to hang onto it? i had it, and it was horrible.

well. i do have a supercharger. the problem is that if the intake piping isn't the same diamer as the MAF sensor, you run the risk of running lean du to a mis-readings of the incoming air volume and fuel delivery system.
so if you want to make good intake for the supercharger, your going to have to make sure the diamter stays the same or you can run lean.
and if you are going to get the supercharger and want to preserve your warranty, then you have to use your stock intake as the warranty explicitly says it is void if you tamper wit the intake, bpv or pulley systems.

No, I just want to work out the details all at once. My parts are in, waiting for install. I got gauges and pod on the way. I want a performance intake. Some sweetness under the hood.
well...a supercharger is a performance intake...instead of just being less restrictive, it just grabs air and forces it into the engine.
i feel more pride opening my hood and seeing the trd supercharger than i did when i just had the trd cai.

The K&N intake is smaller diameter piping than say the Injen one. Jjos1 on here had his Injen modified to work with the S/C. The tubing for the Injen I think is 3 inches? The K&N is smaller. I'm planning to modify my intake too, but only until AFTER I get my AFR gauge. Until then, the stock box stays in. Not even the 9.5lb pulley goes in until I get the gauge.
And Jamie1tc, you want to see what jet-hot coating looks like, look in my profile. Thats what it is.
