Default Alphawerks Question

Ok, To any of you that own the AW header, Were did you buy it and how much?
I have looked at over 15 websites and the cheapest i found was 299+30 for shipping. also, How many had to buy a ney o2 SIM because the stock one that was put in was striped. Im ready to buy this header, but dont want 299 to turn into 500 for all the extra crap that i need with it. Thanks for the info.

I bought mine for $200 off a guy on this forum. But I don't think you'll find anywhere else cheaper than $299. Or u can always wait for the prices to drop.

Thanks. I have about 150 miles on it - just installed it on saturday - and only paid about $5 for the anti-foulers. Got em at my local Kragen. They are "Help" brand and are the shorter of the 2 that fit (42002 or 42009).

I used Kaeon's FAQ ( https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=56520 ) which helped the install along since the header doesnt come with any instructions.

Tip: Start spryaing WD40 on the O2 sensor on the stock manifold as early as possible. I started the night before and continued to spray it for a couple hours before I started the install and it came out perfectly. Also, wipe down the header wth brake cleaner on a clean rag before you start the car, or you fingerprints can get etched into the stainless.

Heres another shot:

Hey Instigator, the top looks pretty easy to install but the how about the bottom? The local Muffler shop i go to said he would do it for $75 but he said it wasnt hard at all and i could do it myself.

Also, he said that we could just plug up the bung on the header and extend the o2 sim right behind the second one and it should work perfectly fine. any suggestions?

The hadest part of the install for me was getting off the far left nut on the main flange. Its tucked up behind the alternator and theres not a lot of room to get in there. Other than that, nothing is really that hard...just make sure you have some extensions and a U-joint so you can get into some of the tricky places.

I dont think you are going to need to get an O2 sim for the project as the anti-fouler trick works very well. The hardest thinng about them is drilling one of the holes to 1/2".

Read through Kaeon's install guilde a couple times and youll see its not too bad.

to get the bolt near the alternator i just used an open end socket and a rubber mallet to loosen it up. I did that with all the bolts actually... Its an very easy install. I think it was easier then an intake install
