I was just wondering if anyone is doing that and how fast theirs are. Oh and if you go all motor do you think its necessary to add on a TRD supercharger?

^^ correct and correct.
I may actually do an all motor build up when I have a house next year (apartment garage isnt the best place to be building a motor :D ). If I do it though, I will buy another long block and build it up on the side, then swap later.
Yes, FI is more cost effective, but I enjoy the idea of seeing what I can do NA. If I want a "race" car, it wont be a fwd 4 banger, so I am not shooting for huge numbers.
Guestimating power gains would be hard. All I can say is that if I do it, I will be looking strongly at sleeving, boring to 2.6L (about max after sleeving from what I can gather on this motor), higher compression pistons, p&p head, custom cams (which may be tricky to get right on this motor), larger valves, etc. Granted, it wont be a rocket when finished, but it would be an interesting project nonetheless, not to mention having a stronger bottom end when finished.
The disadvantage is cost for the power you gain. The advantage, if done properly, is a more durable setup and a wider powerband, which will allow better use of the power. Not to mention adding power without lag, which is more important to me since I am more concerned with a semi quick street car that works well in the corners.
If I build for 1/4 mile, the list is much more fun to think about (and more expensive :D ). RWD platform, 472 crate (720hp version), big, nasty blower............ now I am just drooling over something I cant have right now!

The prob with FI is that its like wham 3k or more right out the door. What do you guys think of this? MMH and s pipe full custom exaust from presicion muffler with there axle back and CAI intake, im thinking this will add around 30 HP and cost around 1200. it will make it a bit more peppy, not a bad powercurve and not cost a ton of money. What do u guys think?
im going all motor for now.. nothing is better then spanking someone on a S/C which i have already come close to doing. its not as expensive as ppl think if you know what you are doing and know decenet mechanic skills.. oh BTW soros..just dynoed my car the other day with my new head.. 184 whp. 179 TQ still need tuning and the ITB's and full exhuast.. i think by jan or feb i should be done.. then i'd like to add some High compression pistons to get me to the 200+ mark

lol my bad i forgot about that thread

i still need to modify the flange and re shape for the studs, only thing holding me back right now is wiring of the TPS + Throttle servo to open and close the butterflies.. here and there a few little things. but im almost done. tuning is going to be the hardest.
hey hows that dezod system working for you??? any good?? does it do partial throttle also?
