ARC Made INTAKE BOX for tC. MORE Japan STUFF COMING.
Hey guys,
I just got a press release yesterday for an ARC Induction Box. Just thought I'd post it up here for info.
If you guys are interested we are a distributor for ARC and can hookup the crazy JDM dudes who have to have this. I run this Induction box on my S13 SR20DET Silvia. It is a very efficient design.

Let me know if you're interested:

I have not seen this in person, but yes the subaru one did pull from fender. Once we actually see the product we will know. I will gather this info from them early next week.
Japanese = Expensiv-anese
ARC Does make incredible stuff.

Totally. Especially since this car isn't over there. I'm working on getting a brake system and some incredible coilovers made from Endless. I'm gonna be running a GB shortly.
I will also have some Japanese wheels new to the market coming out in a week or so. Our first container hits.
Early Jan we might have a full header back exhaust system for the tC under our own brand with Japanese build quality.

from the pic it doesnt look like it pulls air from the fender but make a hood scoop like the wrx and then your in buisness lol just might look odd all the way over on the drivers side of the car rather then centered
Isn't an Intake AN Intake? I mean, what makes this one so much more special that it needs to be priced at $400+ dollars? Does it do anything different than every other Intake out there, besides display an ARC logo?
different countries seem to have different philosophies about intakes:
American: long fixed tube that puts the filter at a openning down in the bumper (cai's from injen, k&n, aem)
Japanese: keep the filter near the stock location under the hood. essentially a short ram. (arc, hks, greddy, apexi)
European (British): keep the filter under the hood in the stock location, and run a flexible tube down to a bumper opening (pipercross, itg)

When you get inot the higher end of power production, engine builders care less and less about intake velocity and intake air temp, and more about volume-- the biggest filter media you can find, as close to the TB as possible. Once you're up in the 500hp and up range, hot charge air makes little difference.
Our oval car was faster with the hood cowl taped closed and half the front grille sealed off-- meaning it was drawing air straight off of the rocker covers-- than it was with a bit of cold air induction off of the cowl. Of course, it makes about 550whp.
