Default Attention TWM Owners

Got an update from TWM that they have shifters bushings combo pack for the tc. I just purchased my short shifter and didnt get to install it yet so im thinking if its worth it, i might as well just buy this kit so i can install everything at the same time. My question for all u pros out there is if it is good or not. I dont know about this bushings and what not so tell me if it is better to upgrade to this or just install the short shifter and F the bushings kit. Heres the link fellas peace.

Just looking at these right now...anyone recieved it yet. I have read that TWM shifters have some play in them and I was wondering if this was the fix for that problem.

I wrote TWM and asked them the advantages of the brushings, but I have seen 2 types. The cable brushings and base brushings... and here is their answer:

Hello,

The shifter cable bushings we offer will produce a noticeable
difference
in the shift feel by replacing the rubber bushings at the transmission
end
of the cable. Installing these bushings with the aluminum base
bushings
will be a good combination since the base bushings remove play from the
shift assembly itself, and the cable bushings remove play from the
shifter
cables.

The end result of installing both sets of bushings is a very direct
shift
feel, free of play or the squishy feel the stock bushings produce.

The bushings can be found here:
http://www.twmperformance.com/bushingkits/index.htm

I hope this answers your questions, please let me know if I can be of
further assistance.

Thanks,

Kevin

word word word so it is worth it... according to the people that made it................. if ppl could support this product itself (shifter bushings in general) it would be greatly appreciated. I never heard of it before this so I would like some input on past vehicles with it, if it makes a positive difference that is noticeable, should i get it?

I made my own cable and cage bushings from solid delrin, and I can say with all confidence that it is completely worthwhile, and a mod I highly recommend to every tC owner with a manual transmission.

TWMs combo pack price is fair-- but I'm hardcore DIY, and fashioned all of the bushings in about 90 minutes, using materials I already had on hand. Shift feel is absolutely brilliant.

If you only do one set, do the cable end bushings. They make a bigger impact. The cage bushings just make it that much better.

I'm thinking about getting these myself.

I have their stage 2 short shifter and I think the bushings are worth it, just wish the combo was less $.

Hey guys,

Thanks for your orders! The new shifter cable bushings and shifter base bushings are available here: TWM Shifter Bushings.

You can order the bushings separately or as a shifter cable/shifter base combo with a $5 savings. You can also add the bushings to the tC short shifter while ordering here: Scion tC short shifter and bushings

Here's a pic of the cable bushings and base bushings:

Let me know if you have any questions, feel free to call 1-877-655-0540.

Thanks,

Kevin

I just picked up the combo kit (shifter base bushings and cable bushings) and recieved them today. The kit looks good, I have heard that the bronzoil bushings are wonderful and everything else is looking in good quality. I plan to install the cable bushings in a few hours. Its awesome stuff!!

ok, I just installed the bushings and I love the way it makes the shifts feel. It is a lot stiffer which may take a little getting used to but it was definatly worth it. when you go through the gears it will be hard to miss one. Install was a breeze as well. Props to TWM again! :D

Glad to hear you like the bushings, thanks for the props! Most people are astounded by the difference installing both sets of bushings makes.

You don't need to have a TWM short shifter to enjoy these shifter bushings, they improve shift feel with the stock shifter or any other aftermarket shifter also!

Installed the combo base and cable bushings a few days ago. Shifts are sharp and precise now with zero squishiness. Thanks for a great product and keep up the good work.

Thanks for the compliments, glad to hear you're enjoying the bushings!

We have added several options to the tC short shifter page to buy the short shifter in a package with both sets of bushings and boot as well, or any combination of eack all at a discount.

Thanks again,

Kevin
