Default Axle back exhaust break in period?

Hi, I just installed the Injen axle back exhaust, with the intention of getting megan racing headers and creative compacts s-pipe as my next planned purchases but all I have is Injen Cai, and Injen exhaust and my tC is louder than I anticipated. So my question is, because I only have about 50 or so miles on my exhaust, does it quiet down over time? Is there some period of time that it needs to "break in" becuase I would like to buy new headers and all that good stuff, but I don't want my car to be obnoxiously loud. any help would be appreciated, thanks!

some say there is some say there isant. my tauruses exhaust dident have to, "break in" to say. But my friends 88 celica did. After a few tanks of gas the raspy sound it had when it was new was gone, and it had a nice deep sound. so i guess its diffrent for each exhaust.... Thats the best i got hope it helps

i guess it all depends on what exhaust you put on, the trd exhaust that i have got louder over time, one of buddied rode in it like the first 500 miles, then he didnt ride in it till lik 4k and and he asked if i put new exhaust on it cuz it sounded alot louder and deeper, so i dont think your exhaust will quiet down prolly get louder

The motor take about a week to get used to the exhaust and will than go deeper. Not much deeper, but enough to notice.

It all depends on how much you drive and how you drive.

If say you drove 160 miles a day commuting to work, the exhaust will "break in" sooner than if you only drove a few miles a day in the city.

The INJEN axleback coupled w/ the INJEN CAI is not going to be obnxoiusly loud. How do I know, I helped do the test and video on the INJEN website showing the dB reading.

im not sure what is there to "break-IN" in an exhaust.. there are no moving parts..

my TRD exhaust does have a tone change.. but has been doing this since new..... it's quiet when i start it in the morning or after the car has been sitting for along time.... but very quickly changes tone to it's normal decibles when the engine is at nominal temp..

I think by break in, peeps mean when the excess packing and what not is blown out or burned up.

And yes, temp does effect the sound also.

Break in can also be determined by the ECU, After about a week of driving the ECU feels the exhaust and than adjusts for it. Just about all vehicles do that. Thats another reason why the exhaust may sound deeper.
