I bought and installed the B&M Sport shifter and love it. I actually cut the shifter down another 3/4"-1". From the pivot ball on the ____er to the shift know it ____s 1/2 lower, but its longer on the bottom where the linkage so they had to include 1/2" spacers to compensate which brings the **** height back to normal so I decided to cut some of it down. I bought a TRD Leather Wrapped shift **** for it. I Love how it looks now.

pictures.... of a short shifter???? anyways i had the b&m on my s14 and damn is it nice, positive shift engagement 1/2 in. throws, i loved it that b&m is tighter than a ferraris gearbox

 

good choice, and yes, the b&m nees to be cut down at least an inch... did that to mine as well!

 

i love mine but i dont understand why you would want to cut it down. i like that fact that its the same height as stock.

 

Cut down as is cut the shaft and rewelded it together?

or as in just didnt install the spacers that came with it?

 

They cut some of the threads off the top of the shaft in order to make the stick height lower than what B&M originally spec'd.

 

cut the shaft and re tap the threads
