What are the bad things about them? Why do they void warrenties? Could you list why sometimes having headers is a bad thing and can you also list ways to make your car last longer with headers? Just a newbie question.
well with headers the worst part is that you'll get a nasty rasp sound out of your exhaust esppecially if you have an aftermarket exhaust.
Also headers take your first cat-converter off so thats the reason most actually all headers void warranties from the dealer.
I'm not really sure that header cut that much life off your car, but then again any aftermarket mod will mess with your cars life.
I'm not an expert in any of these fields but i thought i could atleast help get you started in the right direction.

^^^ Your right!!!
So actually i take back my first statement that all headers void warranties, i just called one of my friends that works for a Toyota Dealer, and he said that headers wont void your warranty if thats all that you change from your exhaust!

cuz i was thinkin about going supercharged later on down the road at some point but i was just asking this question cuz i herd that your warranty gets voided when adding headers while supercharged.
Main reason the dealerships/TRD don't want to perform warranty work on the supercharger if an aftermarket header is installed is because they feel that the excess heat from the header affects the supercharger (heat soak). The supercharger sits next to the header and the shaft goes over the header.
Basically, if you change or modify anything in the engine bay, the dealer/TRD will try to find a way to blame that for any problems that you may come across with the s/c.
I haven't had any problems with my car or s/c and I have almost 50k miles, over 30k of them s/c'ed, and never had the heat shield for the header put on when I had the s/c put on. I'm running a light crank pulley and a 9.5psi pulley, along with a Megan header and TurboSmart BOV without problems.

First, xdejablu3x you need to search. There are a million threads covering this. Second, its a header not headers. Third, a header will not void your warranty unless Toyota finds it to be the culprit of your malfunction (which they will make every attempt to). Also, emissions and warranty are two different things. Once you slap on a header Toyota will not guarantee your passing of emissions (which you will most likely fail unless you put a high flow cat in there, the 2nd stock cat will not be able to make you clean in most states). As for SC application, I don't really know what their policy is, but it makes it easier for them to blame the header.
