big exhaust problem

Default big exhaust problem

i recently got a tsudo n1 biggest mistake in my entire life. i installed it myself and i believe i have some leaks. but anyway it rattles and when my car gets around 3-4 thousand rpms it shakes the car.and when im parked and rev it when it comes back down it sounds like its pushing air out it sounds horrible. and on the stock midpipe whats that second thing right behind the spipe? is that a second resonator? and the exhaust is also extremely hot to the point where if i touched it for more than 2 seconds the skin would stick to the exhaust and under my hood it smells like theres rubber burning.. so many problems. FML...ALSOOO the axleback looks like it hangs soooooooooo lowwwww like if i hit a speed bump i would bottom out

Well why are touching a hot exhaust, of course it is hot!

Did you use the donut gaskets from the stock exhaust?

It is probably rattling on the cross bar under the car towards the middle, it think a lot of people just take that out or bend it some.

never heard of and exhasut that makes the car shake but anything is possible....yea if the exhasut is really hot its goona burn you within seconds...

is everything tight with the correct toque..post some pics if you can of how low the exhasut is and where you think there are leaks..usually if there are leaks either something is not tight or theres no gasket installed or the exhasut itself is malfuctiing

didn't tourqe em just tighten em and idk it just sounds horrible like when I rev it it
sounds like air is bieng sucked in when the revs come down

an exhaust leak? i guess that could happen if you didnt torque it down.. IIRC, the trdsparks install guide for the trd exhaust recommends 35 ft/lbs of torque so try that and see if it fixes it

hmm thats weird if i was u i would take it off and redo the whole thing. never heard of this issue with a exhaust making the whole car shake. did you use the exhaust donut when installing? and might be possible because the bolts werent torqued that could be causing the leak.. didnt have that issue when i installed mine. i mean mine rattles at the axelback but i just got a stronger hanger and got rid ot it. i dont think somthing is in there correctly i mean not saying its installed wrong? like i said i would just remove it and redo the whole thing maybe somthing got mixed up or messed up during installation.

my vote is on both not using the donut gasket (noob) and not torqueing down, i never go by torque specs but i also have the strength of jesus so yea

Where exactly on the exhaust is so hot? The muffler area shouldn't be that warm. Hell, I've got a turbo setup with no cats or resonators and I can grab my exhaust tip with my bare hand after going WOT. A tad warm? Yeah, but not burning hot... under hood temps, different story, even with heat wrap lol.

Mine doesn't get hot either but back when i was N/A it did. Most likely because of different A/F ratios and exhaust gas speed due to piping diameter

idk ill just go get it done at minikie or somthing. not worth the hasel. and whats the doughnut? the thing that goes on the end of the midpipe to spipe? if so yes. or are u talking about the thing that goes to the axleback and then midpipe? if so yes lol but on one side it sticks out alittle but i didnt feel an exhaust leak. and it doesnt shake the car just vibrates it bad and its very annoying. and the axleback sits so low i scraped so many times today. i want htechs what am i gonna do!!?

It hangs pretty low, I used to have it, and it shakes quite a bit. Not enough to the point where it is shaking the car, but that's only because theres not enough support since it's quite heavy. Get an extra hangar welded it, it will fix the problem.

And don't touch it, of course it's hot.

i used to have the same exhaust...it doesnt rattle against the cross bar it rattles against the heatshield above the midpipe...As far as the hanging low mine did the same thing you just have to live with it

yea somthing has to not be on right. cause im lowered on htechs and go over alot of speedbumps just to leavea my apartment complex and i have no issues with scraping on this exhaust. i mean unless the new versions are made different maybe? yea i would take it to a exhaust shop have them fix it if its doing what it is i mean if you checked everything and its right thats your best bet. gl with hope you get it fixed.

hey i had the same exhaust too as well. three things for the exhaust to make it fit properly. 1) the heat shield has too be bent back a bit to keep it from hitting it. 2) there is a bolt (near resonator) that connects one of the heat shields that needs to be grinded down just a bit. the top of the bolt only however, not much needs to be grinded however . 3) the exhaust hanger for the muffler tip hold the muffler too close to the bumper, cut the inside most side of the rubber mount. yes it will lower the exhaust a bit but if stock ride height then it shouldn't bottom out, i never had a problem anyway. make sure all gaskets are in properly, tighten bolts all up and all should be good.
