Breaking in period.
Is it true I should not go over 65 mph for the first 1,000 miles on my TC? Like, I can handle the "no cruise control" thing, but man, driving 65 on San Diego freeways is just asking to be run off the damn road. I'm at about 550 miles now on the car, should I really suffer for another 450 before bringing it to 70+ or is the guy who sold me the car full of ____?
Break in... as in you just bought the car? If that is what you mean, your fine. Just don't drive around everywhere pinging off the rev limiter.
If you had a newly built/boosted application, things may be different.

Varying speed is probably one of the largest things... so you can go over 65... just make sure to change it up every couple minutes.
BTW... do you still have your Owner's Manual? Because that should be covered.

I dunno, I would just drive it man!
Make sure the cars always warmed up before getting on it.. I broke my oem motor in under normal driving just as i will drive it.. when i tore it down it looked amazing!

I don't think you need to be too concerned with the break in, as from what I understand engines of new cars are broken in at the factory (Somone please correct me if I'm wrong though). I think as long as your not beating on it or driving the same speed for multiple hours you'll be fine.
Alright, will do. Yeah I'm shifting around 3,000 rpm as suggested. The only time I go above is when I'm stopped on the retardedly steep hill in front of my place and I have to in order to keep from rolling back into the car behind me. Other than that I'm very good about not over-revving the engine.

i have to agree i did my first smokey burnout 5 mins after i had the car i was always told break it in the way u are going to run it if u are going to bet the hell out of it then bet the hell out of it right away f it that is what that new car warrenty is for....
I treated mine nice for a while, bout 500 i would say. just don't do anything crazy to it.
BTW i now have 71k, with no big problems other then some random issues with an 02 sensor.
