Angry Broken Motor Mounts?

Ok here is the deal. Monday I was catching the on ramp to the freeway going home. I usually drive the speed limit 35-40mph. As I started getting on the freeway I started to feel my car shaking and I thought it had something to do with my tires. As I sped up my car kept shaking more and more so at this point I dont wanna go any faster than 75 cuz its shaking like an earthquake. So I checked my tires and everything seemed fine and now after I go faster than 40mph the car shakes. So my question is....could it be the motor mounts? If so, how much would the fix be? What other problems do you think it could be?

Thanks for your input!

hmm thats weird. mounts can be cheap if u go with Energy Supension Mounts. but as far as the shaking goes, idk thats weird, umm..hmm. maybe alignment issues? low tires? bent rims?

it could be more of a bad wheel bearing or bad axles more than you motor mounts.. also check that you lugs are tight. usually with bad motor mounts it also makes some clunking sound usually on acceleration

Bad bearings usually cause vibration in steering wheel, gas pedal and your mirrors including rear-view will shake. You also feel a uneven balance when you brake. Also, I get a very dangrous shaking at 72mph+. Be very careful when you're turning into curves, you'll get some grinding sound. (I heard thats a sign, the bearing could weld into the axle. Will be a very costful repair) I'm currently driving my "t" like this; have been for almost two months (when I first knew what it was) IT SUCKS! THANK GOD I'm getting them replace this weekend.

But, I also have busted motor mounts too. This indicator is quite interesting; when the car is lifted...You manually spin one of the front wheels and you watch the whole engine block shake foward to back each time. Its a sign that the body shop DIDN'T fix your busted motor mount like they stated when you went there to repair accident damages. FYI, Toyota OEMs are $84.00,109.00,154.00,91.00. I almost fainted when the parts counter told me that estimate then I calm down when I explained about the Energy Suspension kit.

I had the money couple times to repair the bearings but I was worried about not having enough money. If that makes any sense? You know the tech has all the rotors, pads, heat shield off and I give them a "No." He's gotta put everything back on, twice and only get paid the diagnostics charge.
