Default A/C Idle Vibration

How much engine vibration is normal when idling with the AC on? Right now if I'm at a full stop at a light and the A/C is on and the transmission is in Drive the engine/supercharger makes quite a bit of noise and I can see the windshield wipers vibrate. Vibration goes away when shifted to Neutral and noise + vibration goes away in Neutral /w A/C off.

If you're under warranty just let the dealer have a look at it.
Otherwise, others have had similar issues b/c of mounts, a/c belt tensioners, blower motor, etc.

Just passed into the 36k range a few weeks ago. I hope this isn't something that is only covered under the basic warranty.

More than likely it would be under your drivetrain warranty which is 5 yr./60k, just take her in.

Off to the dealer it is. I wish it was just some screw that needed tightening.

My car has had it most of its life. I chalked it up as just another noise our cars make. My Saturn did that too, as does my friend's RSX, so I never really worried about it.

I have Speedsource engine mounts and mine whole hood vibrates with the AC on. It's normal though, My MR-2 did it and my WRX did the same. It's just the compressor passing vibration through the firewall. My first suggestion is to replace or clean your cabin filter (does the TC have one?)

Heh, i'm having some vibration issues myself too, but prob not as bad as yours from your description. My old Ford Probe had it so bad, it was like sitting on a massage seat while at a stop light. Turning on the a/c definitely made it worse, lol.

Its a really common thing with these cars. Theres not a whole lot you can do about it. Putting in new motor mounts or bushings only makes it louder. I have an Ingalls ETD, and its pretty loud, espicially with the AC on.

Until mine quits working...I'm not going to worry, as most people report vibration w/ the air conditioning engaged.

Mine does it too, but I've shrugged it off as probably being caused by extra resonance when the engine is under the extra load of the compressor.

Well I was DDing and i had the windows down seeing as how it was a cool night. go to the drive thru and my way drunk friend was getting hot since we werent moving. So i said "oh no, better turn the ac on real quick to get some cool air in here before he pukes." so i turned it on and he ended up running out the car and puking. then i noticed the rattle and investigated the soruce.
