Default CAI check engine light back on

I had posted earlier about my check engine light being on after installing my Injen Cool Air Intake and I got the light to turn off by resetting the ECU but after a little bit of driving it came back on. I was reading another post and they said to reset the ECU and let it idle for like 15 mins. By idle to they mean just let it run with the engine on in the driveway? I also took it to Autozone but they don't to CEL tests anymore. Any help would be great thanks.

idle as in just let it run like you are warming up your car. Any issues with the install?

and I think I asked in your other thread, but did you make sure it was the correct year for your car? All sensors and plugs are plugged in correctly????

Autozone doesn't do CEL tests anymore? Go to another Autozone, man. Yes they do...

That's probably the only way we're going to be able to help... you have to get that code(s). You said you tried cleaning the MAF, resetting the ECU, etc... those are the typical things. You could have a damaged MAF.. but it's hard to say.

Ya install was good. I did drive once without the wires hooked together from the old intake but once i plugged those in things where fine. I will try to reset the ECU and let it idle for a while because before i was just resetting it and taking it for a drive right away. I drive kinda rough so it could be confused.

or you can just buy a code reader for about $35 Auto parts stores sell them, sears has them, etc.

There is no way autozone got in trouble from the dealers, if they say that they are full of it. the emissions info on OBD2 is generic and HAS to be by federal law. They just wanted to sell you something.

What year is your car?

What year models is listed on the intake info? They changed the intake for the 07's and up, so an 05-06 intake will not work properly on an 07 and up.

If you pulled a vacuum line off the VSV (mounted to the intake) when you did the install, it will be throwing an evap code. If you dont have the MAF seated correctly, it will throw a code for that.

One of the hoses on the VSV was pinched. I took some pictures to show what I mean

the first one is the picture of the valve itself

the second is a picture of the pinched hose

and third is the picture of how I have it attached to the air intake.

How am i supposed to attach it without it pinching the hose.

wtf? put your intake on!!!!! i've had mine for 2 years, others have had theres for 4-5 years and it doesnt do a damn thing. if you get a CEL, un hook batt terminals for 10 min, put back on and drive away as it resets the CEL and you're good to go. i'm over 30k miles w/ mine and no CEL

if you get the maf code, just put a bead of clear silicone around the maf where it contacts the intake.
