Default calling all s/c tc owners

hey guys ive been doing some research on superchargers and the different setups i can do with a trd s/c.

ive been really interested in buying a s/c for my tc, dont get me wrong i love turbos just not on tc's ive heard bad stories and rod in some boosted tc's yeah i wasnt impressed

s/c is alot mor reliable and easy to install and the biggest part NO TUNING unless its a custom setup.

my? how much power can i really expect to get out of the s/c with the trd reflash 9.5 lb nst pulley, larger injectors, headers, i seen and heard of 260 + whp with custom tune, i dont want any complications and and 30 pulls on a dyno to get where i want, my tc is a daily driver and id rather make less hp with a reflash than messing with the fuel and computer to make 200+ hp

so for my readers i need feedback, i dont know much about s/c so speak english lol when replying

for the haters...ill just laugh at you, this thread is for ideas and options

if your selling a s/c and you read this pm me, im interested, if its got 10k on it mmmm NO GO, if it has anything at all wrong with it and thats why your selling it Sorry i dont want it

Correct me if I am wrong but if you swap injectors you will need a tune. I am guessing that with good exhaust and intake. 9.5 pulley. upgraded BPV. Lightweight pulleys you could hit 210 whp

Thanks man, appreciate it

Car runs good, except for the normal toyota (2az-fe) quirks. Making decent power on a very safe/moderate tune. Turbo is a 50 trim, .63 a/r Innovative turbo

If I would have gone supercharged, I probably would have gotten the aem fic and the rippmods water injection ^^

Are you manual or auto?

The question is are you gonna be happy at that power level? ^^

To get the most power out of the supercharger, you will definitely need a piggy back or standalone.

With the mods you listed in the first post, i'd say your around

220-250whp.

I may be mistaken though. I haven't read up on the supercharger too much in a while.

Yeah bro for what you want the S/C will do. I have megan header, ptuning 3 inch exhaust, 9.5psi pulley and custom intake. Going to get a tune on a (AEM FIC) around the 1st. I'll let you know what I make. I'm guessing now I'm about 225ish to 230ish... not sure. The TRD reflash is junk imo. But it is a general tune not tc s/c specific.

The trd s/c is really a waste of time. Running the same amount of boost with a turbo compared to the s/c, say 9.5lbs..... you would make at least an extra 50-60hp with the turbo. And your wrong about the s/c being more reliable than a turbo system. All I ever hear about the trd s/c are the broken seals and broken components. They dont last much longer than 20k miles before something major breaking down. I personally know people who have been through 2 or 3 s/c before they gave up. They were under warranty, but still.
Ive had my turbo set up for exactly one year. No major problems what so ever. Your going to get the s/c..... 6 months go by and your going to want something faster..... I already say it with my car, i want more power. Just do it right and dont waste your time with the s/c....... Go boosted the right way.... the efficient way

if you don't want to get a tune...then no different pulley and the injectors can be no larger than the ones that come with the s/c. You mess with either of those and you need more than the reflash to be safe really. Some have done it...but it's not really a good idea. Header and exhaust is fine, but thats about it...you're lookin at 190-200whp if you're auto and 200-210whp if you're manual

you guys are right...... they have worked out alot of the kinks with the newer s/c going on newer tCs. Im just really pessimistic about these things. There just a waste of time and money to not even reach 250hp.... IMO
I dont know too much about upgrading older kits though. Did they really have a full out recall for certain parts with the older s/c?

I don't know about a recall.

But 2 of my friends, had bearing and seal failures without upgrading anything else.

They got it the 1st year it came out I believe.

Its your tc bro, do what you want. I enjoy my s/c and wish sometimes I had went turbo but I like it when I have something other than normal you know. Everyone I meet like my car because its not the same as everyone else. Granted I hate having a power gap but S/C + LSD = Owning off the line. I have friends that can't get me off the line, top end however is another story but who's racing on the high way doing 55+ pulls??

yeah pack a 3 inch exhaust and a tuned look at everyone wants a piece of the scion. Everyone think's they are slow. Anyways just the back makes you a little quicker thats what I did. Nothing in the back and always roll on 1/2 a tank. You never know when you going to get into a race LOL j/k.
