Is anyone else here running a camcon? If so what settings?

 

I am and I am boosted camcon sucks for boosted cars. I leave the vvti timings at zero and I have only changed the a/f settings car runs great with my a/f settings. If your N/A then you might enjoy some gains out of the cam timings.

 

how much does a camcon cost and would it help with low end power loss from an intake?

 

most people with the camcon aren't changing the timing, so why not save some money and get the safc II?

 

It's definitely in your best interest (ie the health of the engine) to get the CamCon properly tuned. It's really not the type of unit you want to use with general settings or setting tuned for someone else's car with. Differences in climate, available fuel, and mods will all effect what A/F ratios work best (and which ones don’t). It's risky using someone else's settings, especially the more aggressively tuned ones, unless you can find someone who lives in your area, with the same mods as you, . That would be the safest bet if you don't want to get it tuned. But even then the inherent differences in the engines will mean you could probably see an increase in performance (and reliability) by having the settings tweaked specifically for your car. The baseline settings that are available on PE’s website and/or someone else’s settings might be a good place to start the tuning, but not necessarily a good place to leave the settings at.
