Default catalytic converter

im running a full tsudo exhaust and need a cat to pass my emissions test coming up and not sure on what to do

is their one i can buy and put on the mid pipe or what. need some help cause dont really know much about this?

put on your stock exhaust n midpipe for the smog check.

just looking for a way to pass it without changing everything back n looking for a permanent fix

there is no way you can know if the hfc will pass emissions. i know here in cali they are way strict about it and i just had to get my car smogged by the state referee so i went back to stock except the axleback.

the header is the main cat and the mid pipe has a secondary cat. just go back to stock for the test to be sure.

It is not THAT hard to switch it for a day. You won't need to do it for a long time so you can switch it right back. Plus it is this weekend! just get a six pack and switch your pipes man.

lol i know i did the headers myself just would rather pop a cat on the mid pipe so i wont have to worry bout the switch next year

Do they do the sniffer test or the OBD2 port test? I am assuming the sniffer but just figured I would check. If it is OBD2 you just need to have your check engine light off.

my check engine lights off and everything else is perfect i just figure if id pop on a aftermarket cat on my mid pipe it should lemme pass the test

idk if theirs a sniffer test or not

I mean the Universal it should work. It is universal so you will probably have to work with it to make it fit or take it to a shop.

But if it is the sniffer test you are risking not passing because it is only universal and not designed specifically for our cars so you may read out too high and fail.

And if it is only an OBD2 port test then you might have wasted your money trying to pass (because they may not check). But if they do a visual test and know there is supposed to be a CAT in the header you are not passing.

You could go ask a local exhaust shop about it. (one that you are not taking your car to for emissions just in case they are not cool) They should know how the test is run and how to pass other than "put the stock system back on".

But if you are one of the kind people in this world and want to reduce some pollution by all means do the universal CAT.

hottexhuast or somthing like I bought a high flow carb certified OBDII compliant 2.5" in and out Magnaflow with O-2 bung, I relocated the S-pipe sensor to this cat so I would not have a CEL and I didn't.

trying to find a way to pass without havnig to remove you're setup is a bigger PITA than just going back to stock IMO.
