Changing a car to E85!
I'm posting this video in here cause I know there was someone who posted that they switched their tC to E85 but just showed pics and didn't answer any questions. I changed my Daily Driver 96 Corolla to flex fuel using the system from Change2E85.com and the car has been running on E85 any combination thereafter. It mainly runs on E85 every now and then I put 87 pump gas in it if I happen to get low and there's not a station near by that has E85. The car still gets 31 mpg, feels a bit stronger, and no CEL! I'm guessing the guy that did it on his tC runs the same or similar system but wanted to give you all a video of the car running as proof. I don't have any fuel leaks, fuel filter hasn't clogged up, and it's starting to get cold here in Chicago where its in the 40's in the morning and the car starts up fine. This system has cold start assist when the weather starts getting frigid on the regular.....which is definitely needed here in Chicago! Don't get me wrong....my turbo tC is running on E90 and I upgraded the fuel pump, lines, injectors, and have a standalone. I'm just saying for the everyday NA guy who might be curious about doing something like this.....it actually works.
Thanks, no my turbo tC is all custom and I'm running high boost so the change 2 E85 is not designed for that. If your tC is a daily driver and naturally aspirated this system can work. It does say not to mod your car with this system but my Corolla has an exhaust on it and The system still works just fine. The advantage of using this system is the difference in price. 87 costs $3.79, E85 is $3.19. With commuting I still only fill up once a week.
