You got anymore info than that? Why did you change it? Did it go bad? Wrapped it? With heat resistant wrap Im guessing? Do you know the codes your throwing?

i changed the o2 sensor because the o2 sensor on the header( Megan header) that i bought was bad so i put the stock one on it, and the wrap is header wrap that i bought from a performance shop. I had all this done by a mechanic but i was wonder if anyone knew anything before i took it back to him on monday. The code is something like 402 or 420 but im not fully sure. thanks

Did you try reseting the battery? Taking off the (-) lead for like 2-3 minutes. Was the CEL ever off since you put the stock one back in?

ok, the header that i replaced my stock one with already had a o2 on it so i put it in without removing it, then my cel came on so my mechanic said that he would change the sensor when he wrapped the header, when he took the sensor off you could see the problem, the whole thing was burnt, then he put the stock sensor on the aftermarket header and the light is still on

You should disconnect the battery for a few minutes after that to see if the light goes away. Then drive for a while to see if it comes back.

Can you get the code pulled? That will help a lot more than guessing here and there.

Did you use and antifouler.. move the second O2.. etc? If not you wont get rid of the CEL. The header removed the primary CAT.. meaning the ECU is seeing no difference between the primary and secondary O2 reading. You can search and find a ton of threads about it on here.

And i may be jus talkin outta my @$$ here so somebody back me up!
Those anti-foulers that you can get online, jus make the cel turn off right? Some of them that i was looking at cost close to a thousand dollars... FOR A PIECE OF METAL!
Y can't i think of stuff like that? I am going to make this piece of metal that cost 10 dollars to make it and sell it for 1,000 dollars!!
What is the plus side for the anti-fouler besides making your CEL go off?
For 500 dollars I will tape a piece of black cardboard over your cel if you want...
ANY TAKERS?????

.... 1,000 for a metal tube antifouler? doubt it, I could see an electronic o2 sim being more than a metal tube, but even then 1,000 is hard to justify.

What it does is move the o2 sensor further away so that it doesn't seem as rich (if i remember correctly)

the code P0420 means the Catalyst system efficiency below threshold which could be either O2 sensor so that could more than likely is coming from not having anti foulers on your secondary O2 sensor. The three most common codes to et with this are P0420 P0130 and P0136

ummm an antifouler is about 4 bucks at most auto parts stores.. not quite $1000.

To move the O2, you have to still have the second cat in the car. You then have an exhaust shop seal up the bung for the 2nd O2 and then weld a bung in behind the 2nd CAT, so it reads what the ECU is expecting. That should work everytime. The antifouler has been known not to work for some people.. but seems to work for most.

And turning the CEL off is VERY important, since with it on all the time you wont know if another, potentially worse code is set.

Personally, with the negligible performance gain of a header, I would just put the stock one back on and not have to deal with rasp, O2 issues, etc ... but that is just me

I think that 420 is the code but secondary 02 sensor? antifouler?
