Well, we tried to install m new Stage 4 CC and failed miserably.
We tried to follow the DIY here https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ght=diy+clutch
and failed horribly.
We could not get the subframe/ cross membrane to unbolt fully. It seemed like the transmission was resting on top of the cross membrane and despite all our efforts we could get that sucker off to even allow access to the rest of the subframe to unbolt in order to drop the tranny.
I'm trying to see if anyone has any pointers or can provide a better DIY or something.

The best way I've found to do it. is to:
1) remove The header, S-pipe, then the axles.
First remove the wheels, then the main spindle bolts, then the bolt and two nuts from the arm. Then pull out the assembly so it separates from the axle.
Remove the PASSENGER AXLE first. Remove the 2 bolts from the half shaft then pull, it should not be too hard. Then remove the Driver side. this can be more difficult because there is a snap ring that is around the end of the axle that requires a little man power to remove... you can use a pry bar or hammer, or if your careful then you can stick a long screwdriver into the passenger side of the tranny and give it a careful tap with a hammer. This should pop the axle out.
2) Then remove three of the four motor mounts.(front, back and Tranny Side mounts), First remove the front then the back then prop up the motor and remove the side. The rear will give you the most problem. it just takes time to wiggle it out, but you'll get it. (if it is too much of a problem, then prop up the motor then remove the side mount then the rear....)
3) Remove the Starter
This is 2 bolts. should be simple enough. (make sure you have disconnected the battery first. then disconnect the wires from the starter as well.)
4) Then the 9-10 tranny bolts.
BE THOUGHTFUL with this step, Keeping in mind where each bolt came from and where each bolt will get replaced with. marking them or keeping them some other form of organization will help with the reinstall
NOTE: A)
By this time, you can manipulate the level of the car and the motor independently which will allow you to pull out and down the transmission from the driver side of the car.
NOTE: B) (The brake assembly might get in the the way some... there is no need to remove the rotor and assembly.., just move them out of the way and hold them out of the way with zip ties or something. However if you are willing to do the work removing the driver side might make it easier if you do not have much room to work on the car)
5) remove the clutch (and flywheel if need be) replace the necessary parts. making sure the torque specs on the Clutch and flywheel are proper.. (this is a must)Torque specs can be found on Page 42-19 of the FACTORY FSM
6) Replace or inspect the Throw out bearing. Making sure to grease the fork tips and the output shaft (or inter ring of the bearing.) This is so the throwout bearing has a smooth surface to move...
7) Put everything back together.
I know I left quite a few little things out (i.e. ground wire on tranny, Shift linkages, Draining fluid, removal of battery and stuff that is of that nature, )But I am being pretty general. It's just the simplest way of doing it for me. just take your time and have some patience. If you want me to be more specific, please feel free to PM me and I will send you my phone number.

Awesome, this method sounds like it doesn't require the cross membrane and the sub frame of the car to be lowered in order to get to the clutch.
I need to try this again today!
Thanks!
