im tossing in clutchmasters II clutch and lightweight flywheel tomorrow
think its a good combo, has been on my friends vehicles
can't complain about them
ACT wouldn't be a bad choice either
for daily driving and not alot of HP stageII should do the trick

if your gonna be boostin i would just go ahead and get the stage 3. clutchmasters stage 2 is just the same thing as their stage 1 but it last longer. personally i'm going with the spec stage 3

I saw the exedy clutch on ebay and they also had a clutch + flywheel combo if you wanted to get both.

I'm enjoying my SPEC Stg. 2 Clutch (Stage 2: High clamp pressure plate, segmented chatter-free Kevlar disc, bearings and tool. Torque Capacity: 400 ft/lbs) & Fidanza Flywheel!

Pedal feels little bit like stock after breaking it in 500 miles, still getting use to matching revs w/the flywheel and the clutch.

Rev's are awesome (quicker), even though it may not be a huge difference... I do feel the car has some "pep" to it now.

If there is one single mod to do besides bolt on, flywheel would my first go around the next time I get a car.

Do you have any reasons why you think they suck or are you just saying that?

Seen several cars with broken trannies from them. ACT uses a really stiff pressure plate in *most* of their setup's and especially in their mild clutch setups. From my experience, their "street" clutches use a OEM style disk and a increased tension pressure plate. The snapping action that you get from this combination is hard on parts, especially tranny parts. I've seen several cars over the years that should not for any reason break transmissions break them and they have had ACT clutches in them.

To be honest with you, its to the point that I wont sell an act clutch unless its for a complete drag application. I've used Clutchmasters and loved them, I've used several Spec setups in domestic vehicles and had ok results with them (they held power great when they actually held). I've had wonderful luck with RPS and exedy setups and I've never had any experience with Centerforce but dont recall ever hearing anything negative.

OK, just wanted to make sure. Too many people come on here saying they don't like a company just because their friend's dog's mother's aunt's second cousin had a bad experience I like to actually hear what the issue is when people don't like products. Thanks for the clarification. I may be looking for a slightly more aggressive clutch in future.

On a side note, is a clutch replacement a pretty intense install? I am a fairly good "shade-tree" mechanic, but never a clutch. What would be a fairly reasonable price for a shop to charge to do the replacement?

Yeah Just got home fromt he shop. About 500 miles you think? This thing grabs like a ****. Question for aftermarket clutch people....This mey be hard to describe but is it suppose to feel like I have to start gasing alot sooner while lauching at low rpm's. Like I would say I only brought about 1/2 inch out before it felt like it wanted to stall so I had to start the gas sooner then before....make since?

Yeah! It's like driving a whole different car. Sometimes my launch needs some work... (Car stutters a tad).
