Default Crank pulley purchase info?

I am looking into buying a light weight crank pulley for my tc. I was wondering how many companies are making them and what are some advantages/ disadvantages of the different companies pulleys. Please don't start talking about possible damage a pulley can do. I am well aware of the possible consequences. And also if you have any sites to buy one from please list them. I was looking at the zpi pulley, nst or agency power. I don't know if anyone else is making one.

garage1217 has good prices on NST pullys. so does dezod. then there is what i have, a zpi anodized crank pully, you can get it from zpi themselves, or www.turbokits.com.

Take a look around the NST website, www.NonStopTuning.com and look at all the options they have. Their products are all built in the US, they have the most options, the best build process, and the lowest prices.

The other options are also good. But do you want good or do you want the best? You decide.

well what do you think is the best? I know that is a opinion question, and I hate it when people ask those kind of questions. Could u compare pros and cons of different manufacturers?

Does NST make a light weight pully, or only a lightweight underdrive pully? I saw the set on dezod.com with the lightweight underdrive pully and the overdrive alternator pully to compensate and something else and blah blah blah and that just seems like a little much. I mean, the only one of those 3 or 4 that will produce more power is the crank pully, right? and underdriving it will cut my air conditioning, and that is a must here in Vegas!

Strike that...I just went to garage1217.com and saw that they have a stock size underdrive pully as well. Any idea how much lighter it is?
The Unorthodox Racing lightweight aluminum pully at creativecompacts.com says it's 3 pounds lighter then stock. That seems like a lot for a pully.
And the agency power pully at hopupracing.com says it's about 3.5 lbs. lighter.

NST makes all kinds of pulleys for the tC.

The underdrive crank pulley is listed in the n/a section of their site:
http://www.nonstoptuning.com/pKitToySciTC.htm

The stock size crank pulley is listed in the supercharged section:
http://www.nonstoptuning.com/pKitToySciTCscd.htm

They list all the specs and weights on their website. And you can look for Mike on AIM and chat with him yourself, NSTonAIM is the screen name. The underdrive crank pulley will give you the most noticeable increase in power and won't hurt any of your accessories in any negative way. Most people around here use that pulley and none of them have reported anything negative.

I have a couple questions:
With stock size ligher pullyes, do they require different belts?
With the underdrive pullys, it says if combined with the overdrive alternator and water pump pully, it will give more juice to stereo equipment. What about air conditioning?
I know the underdrive alone will effect air conditioning, but if cimbined with the overdrive alt and w/pump, does it fix that? If so, does it take away from the benefits of the underdrive pully?

1. stock size pully can use same belt
2. underdrive pully is 20% underdrive, alternator is 20% overdrive, when combined, you have the same alternator output as stock. if you did stock side crank pully with 20% overdrive alternator, you would have more power for your accessories, but you could burn out your alternator prematurely.
if you do an underdrive pully only, your alternator won't generate the same amount of electricy, and you might be low on power when running alot of accessories.

if you change to any pullys that are other than stock size, you will need a different belt.

I have an Agency Power lightweight, stock diameter crank pulley that bought from HorsepowerFreaks and installed myself and it is the only mod so far(more to come definitely). The weight difference is very obvious. Install only took me 15 minutes(I have a good amount of tools). Increased power is noticeable in the mid rpm range. No complaints here. BTW I have a manual tranny and if you've noticed sometimes stock tC's like to bog if you slowly engage into first, this mod totally 86'd it. Or I don't know how to drive... I dunno.

I have to put this out because people saying 6K-20K no problems.1st off you will not see any problems just with this low mileage. I had 40K-50K on the pulley and didn’t see problems until I dropped my oil pan to install the turbo kit. Once the shop tears down my engine to start the build I will post pictures of the bearings to show you why you shouldn’t use these. You will not see any immediate damage or have any issues until you reach high miles but it is there in the bearings. The pulleys are solid and they get rid of the elastic that helps remove vibrations from the crank. These vibrations are normal part of the engine operation and will be there no matter what you do it will be there and the crank pulley helps reduce the strain on the bearings and crank when using the OEM or ATI Super Damper.
