Default creative compacts short shifter question

So I just got my creative compacts short shifter and it came with 4 purple round things and some nuts and bolts that I have no idea what to do with becasue it came with no instructions. I'm going to install it according to the tech on this site but there is nothing about these purple things and the extra nuts and bolts. Any ideas?

I think they go under the four bolts that hold the transmission to the floor. They are supposed to raise the height of the shifter.

yes the 4 purple things are spacers to raise the shifter housing, trust me, feels better without them.

to get that clip off, get the sharpest flathead screwdriver you can find and hammer the screwdriver in between the clip and the assembly. Work your way around the clip and it will come off, I promise. I just did this yesterday, the finished product is great.

yeah... it takes some brute force to get it out... for me... i didn't mind mutilating the plastic a little bit to get it to pry out. i did the entire install (from start to finish (including taking apart and putting everything back together) in about 15 minutes) fastest install i've ever done.. i was in a rush at the time too... hahaha... that's why.... but yeah.... just go at it with a screwdriver and something blunt like a hammer.

i used the purple bushings, replace the rubber bushings for a more solid feel. also got rid of an annoying rattle after putting them in.

easier way to get the black clip of, is just cutting it off with a dremel. its what i did, took less than a minute to come off

How does the quality of this short shifter stack up to the others? I am thinking about getting the cc shifter becasuse its the cheapest, but i don't want to sacrifice quality. Is it harder to shift than the others? is it smooth?

I think any of the shifters will feel a little bit stiffer... but you get used to it and it loosens up a little with some use. I've had the CC one for a while now and still love it. I can't even imagine going back to stock...

yep....up there^ in this thread that you brought back to life by searching (unless you meant a formal guide, then i'd suggest you contact the manufacturer if you didn't get a written one...the link above is pretty good though because i'm kinda sure creative endorsed it), here it is again.

I know this thread is old, but the purple base bushings arent for height..These bushings will firm up the shifter mechanism cage and make shifting feel more solid and precise.

If you get the solid shifter cable bushings, your all set. Shifting is even better.

I'm thinking of sliding the purple bushings in just for shiggles. Is it that much a difference from running the short shifter without them?

I have both the shifter cable bushings and the base bushings(purple things)

The shifting is amazing, Its so precise now... I would reccomend both bushings be installed. You will be amazed.
