Custom intake
I was thinking about making a custom short ram intake for my car. My dad is able to tig weld aluminum piping or the intake. I was just wondering on what size tubing will work best for the car. I have read that depending on the size will either make the car run lean or Rich. So I was just wondering if anyone has any idea on the ideal size.

Well that normally deals with where the filter is located in adjacent to the air flow sensor. If it's too close, and the sensor is getting turbulent air, it's not getting a great reading, and adjust to what it thinks it see's.
I've always been a fan of air velocity over air space. As far as size, I'm just guessing if you measure the throttle body inner diameter or bore, that's the size pipe you should shoot for. (+/- a few mm) And then you want your air sensor to be far enough from the filter to allow the air turbulence to die down and insure a clean reading. But not too close to the t/b to allow time for adjustments.
This of course, is my theory. Research was done from what I've read, and experienced in the past with modifying cars and air inductions. On mine, I'm just running a modified OEM intake. K&N filter, removed charcoal filter from lid, removed resonator off the tube and capped off, and removed fender air tube.
Not sure how it does on a Air fuel meter, but I did greatly improve throttle response.
