Default Custom Rear Section Added To CC Full Exhaust!

I bought a canister muffler and made a new rear section today. The CC rear section is kinda restrictive and has way too many bends in it. I simply cut the pipe right behind the flange and made it pretty much straight instead of having 2 really sharp bends. I have noticed it pops a lot more and is a little louder due to lack of bends in the piping. I will get some pics up soon of the new setup.

Just so no misconception is posted, our bends are mandrel bent and will not cause any restrictiveness, expecially compared to a canister muffler

Thanks
James

I know but I just wanted a straight shot out the back. I will get a sound clip if I can because it sounds mean as hell now. I would really recommend a resonator on the mid-pipe, because my car has no rasp at all now.

mine never had a rasp...the sound difference is due to the different muffler

No the sound is due to the DC-Sports Header. Mine never had rasp until I put it on and now I have it all the way I want it with no rasp again.

A well designed canister muffler is straight through, and also the best flowing type muffler, with some exceptions.

I would agree with that statement. Mine was $25.00 off of ebay but it seems to function very well. I did put the High Flow Cat back in my car because with the straight through design I lost a little back pressure. With that loss of back pressure I lost a little bit of low end torque which is now all good since I have the cat in again.

i don't know much about about exhaust piping but i do know alot about water piping. every 90 degree bend eqauls 6 feet of restriction, so assuming exhaust piping is the same as water the more bends reguardless if it's mandrel bent or not it's adding restriction. but like i said i'm no exhaust expert but i would assume it would be similar to piping used for water.
