Default DC Header 4-1 or Sway bar?

so i have a choice to make...either to get a DC Sports 4-1 header or Hotchki's sway bar. My friend is selling his DC Sports 4-1 header for 200 bucks which i think is a decent price. I havnt researched on how much the hotchkis sway bar is but im guessing around 200 becuase the trd sway bar is around 200ish. I want a nice suspension setup but yet i also want a lil power for my engine. i dont know what to do!!!! i want both! but i dont have enough for both! i can only afford either or. and suggestions??

You're gonna have to factor in buying a resonator or two and letting a muffler shop install them... that'll be $100-$150 ish. Otherwise, your car will be frickin' loud and raspy as hell...

hey...its nice that you are modding your car ... and alot of peeps have this kinda problem, suspension or power. seeing that you have the TRD springs/shocks, you have more than enough suspension parts for daily driving..you can always get more, but it seems that you have enough. i would suggest going with DC sports headers because it will increase the driving pleasure, and they do make a great amount of power for just 200 bux. so if it were up to me i would go with the headers.

and what he said about the resonators and such..that B/S. you do not have an exhaust so you will be fine. you already have a cat and resonator built onto the stock midpipe and the stock muffler is so restrictive and basically cancels out any sound coming out of the engine that you wont need a resonator. but if you plan to get an exhaust, than yes you will need a 30" resonator to elimante rasp(dont ahve to get 30")... but it doesnt seem you want one yet. so dont worry about it, headers themselves dont make noise... headers and a AM exhaust will cause rasp

i would do both as my first and second mod. I have the sway bar and its a nice upgrade. In another few months there will be another header or 2 comming out so maybe you want to wait on that.

I wish there was a header dyno post that compared the hp gains

there is..check the Drivetrain and power forum...and look up top at the stickys, is has the Performance round up. then click on the header one duh!! and it has the MR, AW, DC and some other. i personally used to hate on the DC.but after seein how much torque it puts down, i like it alot.

I havent heard them in person other than videos, but I have NEVER heard the DC header on stock exhaust sound anything but raspy and ricey as hell. Make sure you try to go find one and listen before you install one. I have heard a lot of complaints from people that slapped one on with stock exhaust and complained like hell.

When they say add a resonator, they mean a larger one. And you are REMOVING one of the cats in the stock system (the one on the header), which removes some of the sound absorbing from the system.

I am not trying to argue, but this is the first time I have ever heard anyone say it sounded good without adding a huge resonator.

From my time reading here, I would vote on the sway bar first. All suspension will come before engine mods. Theres no point in having more power if you can't get it to handle well (in turns).

If you just want straight line fun, then the header would be the way to go.

draxas will be comming out w/ their header (prob in another month or 2) do a search on "draxas header" and watch it.

I have the draxas spipe back exhaust right now and it sounds great. I am not sure the size of my resinator thought.

the hotchkis sway bars are not around 200 but

all depends on you my friend. are you a person who needs more power? or a person who wants a more firm ride through cornerS?

i love taking corners fast and stuff. so i got my sway bar 1st. then power mods 2nd

^^ That is how I am. I want to possibly build up an engine , swap out for mine and then add a turbo kit, so that will take some time and cash to do. You can add some nice suspension mods for much cheaper. And really, on most street driving the car has plenty of power to enjoy yourself on the curves with some springs and sway.
