i installed a DC header and just got a CEL the code is (P0420)...i just want to know what it means and if i will make my car run werid like mess with timeing or fuel/air..o and i did the anti fouler thing too

 

Which antifouler did you do? There's a 90* one and another. And where did you install it?

 

i did the 9002 i think..and my friends house that is a certified car person lol

 

did you disconnect the battery before install? and hopefully you put the anti-fouler on the secondary o2 sensor on the s-pipe.

 

yep unhooked the batt..and yep again on the s-pipe

 

is it ok to drive or what do i need to do.. is it goin to mess up anything if i drive it

 

i have the same header and did the anti-fouler thing. it did not work for a while then one day it just went away, and has been off the last 2and a half years.

i drove with the cel on gas mpg sucked and it idle low at a red light. but you should be ok.

use 3 foulers instead of one or two that did the trick for me

 

from what i have read around the forum the weapon-r antifouler is the best around and seems to not have any problems. Again though thats by memory.

the code you got is just cat failure.......you can drive for 20 years with it.......but you will not pass emissions with it........Weapon R L pipe will fix it......but you will not screw up car with the cel......same cel we all get with header.DC does not work 100% with the antifoulers,some do some don't.....Weapon R so far no one has had a problem.....the one guy who did realised he did not tighten up the thing and it was loose,tightened and it has worked ever since.

God I wish I lived there.......I hate emissions,we are almost as bad as Cali here in Washington now........I figure in a few years we will be just like them and not be able to change anything on the car

 

im so glad im going back to FL cause there aint now emissions.
