Default DeBadging your car...

Anybody think about taking off the badges on your car.
If you did already, do you have pics?

How bout taking them off, painting them, then putting them back on....

I took off the small tC badge on the trunk. Pretty easy to do. Just get some floss and work through the glue on the back. Then use a butter knife to very gently scrape off the excess glue. I will post pics later on tonight if I remember

Thanks,

I was thinking of taking them off, and painting them like a gun metal with a clear coat

What do you think, Clayton1?

I wouldn't use a butter knife for fear of scratching the paint.....rub off what glue you can with your thumb.....then use some goo-gone or alcohol........

i heard the best way to do it:

use a blow dryer...
peel them off with your fingers, floss, or fishing line...
then buff the spot with some good wax...

That would look pretty sweet I think. Although i wouldn't really know how to go about reattaching them. I wonder if you can just reheat the glue? Post pics if you do paint them b/c i want to see how they turn out.

I'll prob do it closer towards the end of the week when I have some free time from work and school....

You can prob find some adhesive strictly for badges at like autozone or pepboys.

It definately makes a difference in your 0-100 times... I think it adds like 10 horses and you lose 8/10ths of a pound... dude... he probably just put it in power hungry by mistake... I took mine off too and it looks clean... but now more people ask me what it is
