Default DIY mods (with little $$)

sup guys. well im off today and love workin on my car and was just thinkin. anyone done any DIY mods? my buddy just cut out his airbox on his VW passat and made his own RAM air intake. kinda cool actually.

im really broke because im about to drop 600-700 on an exhaust (axle-back, s-pipe- header, and possible new resinator depending on if the muffler im looking at can handle the rasp)

if anyone has done anything to their car that was their own doing and didn't "buy some internet mod" and just bolt it in. CUSTOM WORK BABY!

post your pics!

i think today i might rig up my own little push button starter/ignition arrangement.

short shifter
get vinyl eyelids ( i bought fiberglass ones which run at $40)
shorty antenna
paint your interior

thats all i can think of now. theres another post with ideas just do a search.

There are multiple threads about this if you search.

And your buddy basically just make his stock airbox draw in hotter engine bay air, since I believe his stock intake ran to the fender just like ours

A pretty popular cheap mod is to do the interior. Sand and paint the waterfall dash and gauge trim rings, redo the door inserts in custom fabric, suede or vinyl, wrap the a, b and c pillars, and redo the headliner. Headliner you may want to leave to a pro install unless you're willing to possibly do rework in a year if it starts sagging.

Why would you lose your outdoor temp? That is a separate sensor.

temp through the antenna ROFL. Last i checked the majority of antenna are screw on. You ever owned a car before??

But a few cheap mods are painting the interior, S2k antenna, interior air filter mod(check the tech section), paint calipers, K&n drop in filter. Just a few i could think of.
