TO do OR not TO do Cheap Intake
Ok so I did a search and found the topics i was looking for so please no do a search comment thank you.
I want to start do more mod to my tC suspension is coming this summer.. but for know i'm wanting to do a CAI I could spend them money on a name brand intake but that would just take more time of me saving money for something that, I have done on other cars with a lot less money. I was looking on ebay for a one of their no name intake systems .
now do you guys think i should just save up for 200$ intake system. Go with ebay one slap on a 50 K&N filter ?
Just looking for some suggestions .. and what do you have sucking in your air ??

Yeah I would honestly be surprised if you saw any difference in performance between the names and the ebay stuff. Build quality may be different, but the performance aspect would only vary by like maybe 1-2hp, if even that.

intake doesnt provide more hp, i'd say get a ebay intake and just buy a bigger filter..... paying 200+ bucks for a filter that does almost the same job as a 50 dollar one isn't worth it. unless you are rich, go with the brand name. i am going to get a cheap intake and slap on a big filter.....

my best advise is save your money and upgrade your suspension - no matter what intake you get and how much money you spend your not gona gain to much whp on the other hand if you upgrade your suspension youl be able to corner better and have more fun with your ride and you wont have to worry about messing up your air sensor just my 2 cents

something I've learned as I'm sure many here have. You get what you pay for, and your car, assuming you bought it with your own money, is a huge investment for you. Don't cut corners or skimp on anything. Even an intake. You'll be happier at the end of the day!

dude i am telling you, dont be fooled by their claims of how much hp a CAI will add to your car, they are all bs. save your money on the suspension. just get a cheap ebay intake and get a big filter, you can choose a name brand filter.

anyway, no, don't buy cheap parts until you can get better parts unless they are going to contribute to your desired final results.
you cheap out and by a 50 dollar intake to appease you until you can get your several hundred dollar intake, makes the total cost of your cai several hundred dollars plus the 50 you wasted on a part you will throw away. patients and purserveirance will make it all the more sweeter.

ebay is ___....unless ur buyin somethin that is good quality........dont by crappy parts. if you dont have the money to spend on name brand stuff.....just wait a little while to you do. youll be much happier in the end.

Please don't bother with and Ebay intake. There is WAY more involved in creating and intake for a car that just bending a pipe to "fit" the car. If you don't believe there are real differences in intakes then take a look at this:

GSC Motorsports did a shoot out one the top QUALITY intake and there were some surprising results. Here is actual PROOF that not all intake are the same and not all perform the same.
Save your money and either buy quality parts or just work on the suspension. I can never understand why anyone would take a nice new car and put junk parts on it. Maybe it's just me.
