Does anybody else
Lose a lot of power when they shift? im thinkin it might be just me cuz im new at racing but it could be the car lol.
im running stock everything except for trd exhaust which doesnt really give me hp anyways.
i was racing a v6 mustang and i owned him at takeoff but he caught up everytime i shifted so he kept catching up. i think im shifting pretty well but does anybody have any pointers?
please no flaming or trolling im just looking for some feedback
thanks

wow...you fail epically...
lets just assume that you were racing on a closed course, or track...
when you are changing gear, the car is in neutral from the moment you clutch in until the moment you change to the next gear and let the clutch out.
while in neutral, you are no longer accelerating (unless your rolling down a hill) but just rolling and slowing losing speed to roll resistance of the tires and aerodynamic drag etc.
for example, i was next to a toyota prius at a stop light. and while we left at the same time and accelerated at the same pace, the prius is a CVT transmission, which never changes gears, but everytime i upshift, i fall alittle behind the prius because i am momentarily slowing down.
if he caught up everytime you shifted, either you are taking too long to change gears, or your upshifting too early and bogging down in the next gear until you reach the broad part of the powerband.
as for pwning your friend on the take-off, that means your friend can't launch his car properly, rwd>fwd in a drag race

3. this is mainly here but it can be applied to a few other sites...dont talk about doing illegal activities, no one condones it!
4. make more clear thread titles
