Default Does anyone have a Tanabe exhaust???

i was wondering if anyone has the tanabe exhaust on their tC yet. i was looking at getting the HKS but if the tanabe looks better and sounds better then i will get that one. i've seen it at www.hopupracing.com.

there is another post on here about it but the topic doesn't mention tanabe and i think this one might be more of a response.

if you do have it please post pictures and a sound clip if you have it

thanks in advance

Guys I had a Tanabe exhaust back in the day adn it was ok at first but about 3 or 4 months into it it got obnoxiously loud its up to you if you want to be singled out by cops I would stay away
I personally have the apexi n1 muffler with custom piping work and it sounds great it probably helps that I have a turbo but it sounds real nice

Was it also for the tC and if it was then was it the Medallion Touring or the Concept G?

I emailed the guy at hop-up and he told me the exhaust wont ship till January 06. I doubt the medallion touring will be "obnoxiously" loud. It has the same design as the Apexi WS2 (which is very quiet). Besides these exhausts are a brand new line of exhausts from tanabe that were just inroduced at the last SEMA.

I think it will be quieter than the HKS.. I had the Megan Catback and that was pretty loud too. The Tanabe one advertises to be legal with the sound level being low.

I had the Megan, but I sold it. It was loud and it rattled with the silencer so I didn't have it on. It sounded like a WRX which I liked. Sure was fun setting off alarms everywhere I go, especially parking structures. I am back to stock now.

just wanted to comment that i also heard from hopup and tanabe themselves. these exhaust wont ship til january. also, comparing these models to older "back in the day" tanabe stuff is pointless. tanabe is using new technology now and i haven't heard anything bad in a while.
