HAHA Funny.

Recirc = Less HP
Cats = Less HP

Sounds like sleeper = slow in your opinion.

Flying up tomorrow to pick up my baby! Probably will be driving home Tuesday afternoon and post tons on Wednesday!!!

Wish me luck!

recirc and cats would be a very minimal loss
worth the lack of noise in my opinion

Very untrue... Just recirculating the wastegate could be as much as 40 whp difference on my car.

P.S. Not just guessing here either, one of the first ZPI cars, had a recirculated wastegate and it cost him 40 whp on the dyno. I've actually seen that car in person, it's NOT QUIET!

Slow in YOUR opinion sounds like sleeper in MY opinion.

You don't deny that a turboe'd tC, with recirculating BOV and wastegate is still faster than most equivalent NA cars, do you?

You don't deny that it'd be quiet with still with the recirculating vents?

You don't deny that mufflers and resonators and cats cost only a handful of HP at the most?

Then we are in concurrence.

LOL
40 WHP is a lil extreme for an open dump, perhaps 10-15WHP may be more reasonable. Todays cats have minimal restrictions, which result in about a 5 hp loss I would say at most.

It'll be quieter, but it still won't be quiet. As soon as I put an intake on my WRX, you could hear recirculating BOV all the time.. and turbo spool and whine.

There was no denying it was turbo...

It's a matter of personal preference, if that's what you want, go for it.. But don't expect to sneak the turbo past anyone.

I'd focus on shocking them with how fast it is, and less on how quiet it is..

On the WRX you can absolutely still hear the recirculated BOV, my friend has a Greddy R recirced and you can hear a swooshing noise now even w/out an intake. It could be heard over his exhaust which is 3" turbo catless back Perrin exhaust.

And neither is your's. I just got back from ZPI this past Sunday morning. I had the pleasure of seeing your car. And let me tell you dude, you won't be disappointed. I will catch up to you in power soon, but it's a beast.

PS...don't spank to many Mustangs on your way out of KY.

How loud your BOV is depends on whos making it, I'm sure. In anycase, I'm more talking about the wastegate. The BOV sound is tough to get rid of completely and who would want to anyways? When it's recirculated I'm sure it'll be soft enough not to be heard by other drivers in different cars on the freeway.

But I suppose it's a lost cause anyways.

you're right, just go and go fast.

Default can you help out the new guy

I just bought my tc coupe two weeks ago. I'm trying to learn as much about customizing as I can. I was blown away at your modifications. I'm curious to see if you might have a guestimate as to how much of a difference all of the upgrades gave you. I'm curious as to what's possible, and from what I can tell from your post and pics, you would know better than anyone else. I would appreciate any suggestions, guidance, or info you can give. Beautiful car, -Nick

ZPI kit looks good and well thought out.

I saw on your other post about output about 290whp and that's very good.

Im not suprised tho. There's a turbo '04 Solara with the same 2.4L engine and five speed transmission.

With a Turbo Peformance Turbo Kit, stock exhaust and a friend of mine spending about 10 hours with Greddy E-Manage it put down 230hp, with stock injectors in place.

We had a problem with pegging the MAP sensor but once we figured that out, it was very smooth.

Looks like this 2.4L engine responds well to additional airflow without alot of restriction.

If your in the San Fernando Valley and need your E-Manage tuned, it was our first one with one, so taking 10 hours with wiring and still learning the software isn't bad in my opinion, check out The Dyno Store - http://www.thedynostore.info/

Good Luck on your ZPI kit and its nice to finally see some tC's with some output.
