Default engine cover screws broke

so i was putting my engin cover back on yesterday and i noticed that when i was screwing it back down...it just kept on turning on both sides so i took it back off and the right screw had completly came unsoldered or whatever and is now screwed down into the block and the left side has potential to do the same but i took it off just incase it didnt

how can i get that screw out?...so i have to go to the dealership or is there a tool small engouh that will fit around the top so i can get it out

also...is it really necessary to have that cover on?

The engine cover is purely cosmetic, you dont really need it there.

if you go to sears and explaine your problem they will help you. craftsman (as well as many other tool companies) have a tool that is like a drill bit but it turns the other way and it specificaly for pulling broken bolts and stuff.
