that's actually the most important part.
think of it this way. you have to determine the correct length between the two brackets (1 on the engine and the other on the strut tower), and the amount of "travel" you allow for the damper. too short and the ride will be harsh. too long, same thing.
these dampers are sold for just about every car. not every car has the same distance between brackets, right? so that part of the installation is on you. not difficult at all. read my writeup.
i am actually surprised that weapon r doesn't explain it on theirs.
