Default evo2

ok i have a noise problem, i have a header and it makes rasp. so i took off the trd axle back and put the oem one back on. i know this took all my power away but the sound was to much. so i did some looking around and found that the greddy sp2 is very quiet and good but since it is discontinued i cant find one.

just was wondering if the greddy evo2 does the same job of quieting down the car. also if not what would be the best exhaust to go with and if anyone out there would like to sell the sp2 i would be interested.

thanks

i have the evo 2 with a DC header. if you want to go quieter and get rid of most of the rasp this is not the way to go.

i had the megan drift spec on, it was LOUD and rasp was sort of tolerable.

put the evo 2 on, got A LITTLE (not much!) quieter and rasp got WORSE! having a shop weld me 2 resonators because i can't stand it at all. doesn't matter what RPM range, it rasps ALL of the time. No joke!

greddy evo2 exhaust and i think the greddy ti-c exhaust also... is not good on aftermarket headers... it will get raspy no matter what.. they are only good on OEM headers...

dude, the solution is slapping a nice big resonator on. Changing the axel back portion of the exhaust really isn't going to do much. Also, as for losing all your new found "power," the sp2 and evo 2 put out like 6whp over stock, so you really aren't going to notice a massive difference especially since you already eliminated the primary cat with your header. Get a bigger spipe and midpipe so you don't bottleneck the system if you haven't already done so and slap and resonator on. Other than that, rasp not be going anywhere since the primary cat is gone regardless of which axelback you have on...

actually the stock axleback is pretty restrictive. and 6whp is quite a gain if you ask me.

well i do have a megan mid pipe and i cut out the smaller res and put a aero 2.5 res in cause everyone told me that it would do the job, ended up doing nothing. and the stock axel def cuts back on power.

It's def something, but not something major. I don't know about "took away all my power."

haha 6 whp from just a trd axleback? way less. i'd say about 2, maybe 3 at the most.

the sp2 puts out 6whp. The TRD is a "1"hp gain

The SP2 isn't TOO bad, it's relatively quiet compared to most exhaust but it does get raspy when it's under load over 3k rpm.
Here's how mine sounds with a DC header and full Megan pipes:
