Default Excessive engine vibration

So the short of it is I had new pistons and rings installed. After this was done and the engine was back in I have substantially more engine vibration at idle than before to the point I don't want my Ptuning engine mount.

It seems like they may have not tightened something or maybe there is something I loosen then retighten to help?

Any inputs to the potential source would be greatly appreciated.

Take it back to whomever did it and make them warranty the work they did. Boom! Problem solved.

The engine is still all stock, dealership did this for me on "goodwill" and quite frankly did a crappy job putting it back together. I have been finding loose bolts all over the place. I really do not trust them so would much rather just solve this on my own if possible.

I am just looking for areas I should double check that others may have experienced as sources of engine vibration transfer.

if u had a new piston installed, id say that may have forgotten to either time the balance shafts or maybe they didnt put the chain back on for it. thats really the only thing i can think of as far as a vibration. it would make sense since that all had to come apart. but who knows.

Is there some sort of inspection I could do to verify this or is it pulling the engine out?

if they did it improperly even though they good-willed it you have recourse.

I'm not so sure it is engine based, it isn't running bad and with the stock mount in it isn't overly noticeable. I would say it is 3-5 times the level of engine vibration transfer to the chassis I am used to at idle.

Other thing that crossed my mind was since it sat for about 6 months so any of you think the fuel system may have gummed up some and may be causing a slightly rougher idle?

if it did sit for 6 months like you say, then it might just have a rough idle. seafoam your engine and see if that solves your problem. also make sure all the motor mounts are bolted up tightly (im sure you've checked this already..)

How much have you actually driven the car? If the ECU has been reset, it will idle low and sporadic until you drive it around a while. That will cause it to idle rough as crap. If you have not done so, drive it around town for 30 minutes or so with plenty of stops and starts and it will clear up and the idle speed will return to normal.

If it is not that, it could be a lot of other issues.

Regardless of if it was "goodwill" or not, they should warranty the work that they did. If they didn't tighten something then it will only bring you back for work that YOU pay for. Do the smart thing and take it to them.
