Default Exhaust help

I have the TRD axle back and im investing in headers, s pipe, and maybe a new cat

my question is dose anyone know of a way to get a 2.5 or 3' middle section pipe (cat to axle) made for a tc.

and second i was thinking about getting rid of my cat all together and and replacing it with a pipe that i put flanges on so i can swat it back in for inspection. what do you guys think.. do that or just get a magnaflow high flow cat ?

mmm u could go to a muffler shop and ask em to make a custom mid pipe for you.

i have megan headers / megan s-pipe / stock flanges with custom mid pipe with no cat and just a magnaflow resonator that i purchased / HKS HI-POWER... i dont think i need inspections for another few years for smog or if i get pulled over and the cops find out some how that i have no cat at all... first week i had headache cause of the fumes cause it has no cat at all but eh u get what u paid for p.s. my car sounds deeeeeeeep now

thanks a lot thats a good point i have a magnaflow dealer right by my house so ill look in to that.

is your custom pipe from the s to the axle? thats seems like it could be easily swapped back out for inspections.

what'd you pay for yours?

if you are not FI and only have bolt ons...don't go 2.5+ you will loose too much backpressure and itll hurt performance

yeah you dont need 2.5 at all. take it to a shop and tell them exactly what you want and you'll get it!!!

thanks, i went to a shop and this old hot rod guy was being a dick. so ive been looking around and i think i found a chill plase thats will to bend and weld a custom pipe.

i was talking to him about just using a megan s and mid pipe he seems to think it would be a better way to go..

is he right?

as opposed to what? Not having a header? You'll probably want the header for the performance gains. However minimal it is.

if you get headers then get a megan s-pipe and then a 2.25" straight pipe with a high flow cat and a resonator to kill abit of the rasp, but i think it's too loud to do all of that piping. either go with s-pipe and midpipe or just headers and if you still want it to be louder then a s-pipe although it really won't do much of performance.

megan header, megan s pipe, megan mid pipe and take the mid pipe to a place and have weld on a huge resonator and a high flow cat if you want one.

I dunno me personally I have never trusted a custom pipe. The company pipes are engineered and machine bent for the right sound and gains. Ya they are a bit more but to me at least I have the comfort of knowing they WILL provide the peak gains possible.
