Default exhaust question on different trannys

so i'm in the market for an exhaust...i've narrowed it down to the EVO2 or HKS...

but

a friend of mine has the evo2 on his solara, AT. there is barely any exhaust note.

question is, do exhausts sound and perform differently on autos compared to manuals?

and yeah, i drive an automagic.

to some extent i would say yes, cause the MT is geared differently, but at idle it shouldn't make a difference, keep in mind the 2AZ on the Camry/Solora and tC are not the same internally, so that could be the big diff, but my Injen is nice and deep.

exhausts do sound different on both trannies.. just basically how it sounds when it's shifting.

and yeah... the evo2 is fairly quiet i'd say.
