Exhaust "WRAP". No, it's not needed on aftermarket header and S-pipe. It would help on the stock header though.

the headers have no cat......the stock manifold has restriction from the cat causes more heat to come from the manifold. After market headers don't have that restriction, so they don't get as hot. you can do it .... and it will reduce under hood temps, just not needed.

It helps drastically on an open tube header. Also helps the life of everything underhood including electrical, seals etc... They look great non-wrapped but man.. I would rather have a much longer lifespan on everything else.

I can drive for a half hour and open the hood and put my hand right on the engine. Our engine bays cool vey quickly so it's not needed.

You have a plastic cover over your head "not over your actual head, although I question that with your last statement". Stick your hand down on the block / head or touch your ex manifold after 5 minutes. And use your left hand this time, your right hand must be made of wood.

yeah i don't think it gets that cool that quick......but it doesn't get that hot where stuff starts to melt.... i have even seen a guy with no heat shield and a STOCK manifold drive around with no probs. when i used the carbon wrap on my race car we used it because of the high rpm high heat situation. COOLTEC also says it give you a little extra hp (that's what they say, never felt a difference) because of the heat is trapped inside of the exhaust and it makes the exhaust scavenge better.

You guys are rediculous. That wrap will do absolutlely nothing for your car. Once you go turbo and start heating things us maybe. Our engines run plenty cool.

Ya....longer life on everything EXCEPT THE HEADER ITSELF. This is race only stuff people. You put a wrap on your DD and you'll see a year or two out of your header before rust starts kicking in. Remember stainless is NOT rust proof, but rust resistant...if it was rustproof it would be called stainfree. Moisture will be trapped in the wrap and be in constant contact with the header and anything else the wrap is on while the engine is not running. Good luck if you do use it......if you want cooler temps, then get it ceramic or jet hot coated.

Lets see... been running it for 6 years on my impreza, and wow no rust! Ran it for 3 years on my fx16 gts with 4agze engine and wow! No rust ever! Guess you have rust issues because you live in Ocala Florida. "I visit there often"

Just a little info also, Doubt it will help the tc in this way but I was throwing a cel on the impreza at odd times and always the o2 sensor. I used the wrap to insulate the header and keep the heat in and it 100% cured my cel from coming on. I know the tc's issue is the cat not being there but it sure helped me!
