hey iv had my cai and catback exhaust for a while and it was fine but the other day i isntalled header and s pipe and the shaking is redic and its hittin somethin..does any1 kno of anythin like a vibrate damper or somethin thats able 2 go around the exhaust thats hittin my frame? any help wud be great thanks

 

You would probably need to explain more, on how the sound is. how often it occurs. But in my share of experience i have had rattles on the heatshield above the midpipe. Also a rattle could be the s-pipe hitting the frame. If the rattle occurs when idling, then that is an easy fix. Just start the and lift it.

 

yeah its the s pipe hitting against the frame but also the end where the exhaust tip is shakes ridic now also... wut u mean start and lift?

 

well you can start the car lifted up, get under and target the rattle. That is if you didnt know where the rattle was from.

which header /s-pipe did you install?

 

i installed the weaponr r header and s pipe

 

I would suggest checking the header support mounts I don't recall if there are two or not. If it's not that then it could be the secondart O2 sensor tapping or the s-pipe banging on the frame.

 

i took those brackets out so i know its not that and it sounds like its the spipe banging on the frame

 

Yeah Tc Pete had this too, he just took a bar and pushed against the frame the spipe to give clearance, and it worked.

 

are you sure its not the engine noise u have...cuz i had just an exhaust and when i installed headers is sounded like something was vibrating around 2200-3000 rpm i dont know exactly y its so raspy but i guess just cuz its a 4cyl maybe this will help idk.

o ya i put mine on alift and it wasnt hitting anywere.

 

id be willing to bet its the s-pipe hitting the passenger side crank shaft. if you can get under the car, look right after the spipe connection to the header, and see if theres a metalic stripe right above the spipe. if so, its rubbing on the crank.

 

Crank shaft? isnt the crank shaft inside the engine?

 

the rod that comes out of the tranny on the passenger side. thought that was the crankshaft

 

no what you are talking about is the axle shaft, the crank shaft is in the block

np, i dont have the weapon r but i think i remember reading something about the design of the s-pipe causing a noise and they redesinged it.(could be mistaking)

 

Ok i just did a search and found someone that had a similar problem, You need to put the car up in the air. and check on the s-pipe were the O2 sensor is. Since your runnig a header and a s-pipe, the s-pipe has a cel eliminator on it. Double check the space between the O2 sensor and the rack and pinion. Check that and let us know what you find... You want to see a gap of at least 3/4 to a 1 inch.
