Default Exhaust System w/auto

I have an auto tc, and i was looking at sum exhaust systems to buy. what im worried about is if i buy an exhaust wit an auto car it will sound like rice rather than a sexy, deep tone.

Also, i have about $1k to spend on my tc, and wanted to know wat might be sum good ways to spend it (springs/shocks/struts, subs, exhaust/header/intake, etc.)

Opinions, anyone?

get the whole suspension package on mcgeorgesparts.com it comes w/ spring/shocks/sway bar. As for the exhaust it depends if u want gains or not.

is it really that hard to use the words "some" and "what"?

if it was my money i would buy intake, header, exhaust. and if i had enough a TB

so i'm guessing by your comment that you're not planning on getting an exhaust either huh. considering that the auto and manual tc's come w/ the same engine.

Im not planning on racing mine, but I got the exhaust because I like the way it looks and sounds. I didn't ask if it increases performance until after I bought it, so boo hoo for me. I still like it though. I'll be getting a supercharger too at some point. In my AT

WTF does the AT has anything to do with exhaust sound. It will sound exactly the same as if you installed that exhaust on a manual tranny

like in most automatics the gearing is much different. unless you have a tope end car enzo, supra, some of the benzs for example. the auto's suck proformance wise

quick question dont want to steal the OP's thunder, but how is the highway drone in the tC? does replacing the exhaust have any effect on lowering the highway drone?

yeah i guess my freinds are idiots. They keep telling me that my cars hopeless because its not manual (even though theres arent either, they have the sportronic crap which i find retarded).
I wanted to spend the $1k in a way that would improve performance so i can rape their cars on the track (mazda3s, mazda6i, rx-8, eclipse), but depending on the hp gains for exhaust/intake/header i might jus go for the subs.

Yes, your friends are idiots I posted this in another thread and is relavent here.

Track Drag racing....automatic is king...hence the CO2 shifted auto tranny in top fuel and modified drag cars.

Road racing...MT is the King for control of power thru corners

Stock car vs stock car .....racing around town..MT usually dominates.
Drag racing...Auto is king.....if built right.

Torque converter is key. By replacing your converter, it is like having a variable gear ratio. People always think that if you have a high stall converter, your car won't start to move untill you hit that RPM, not true. They just are not transfering 100% of the power that it is able to. ( Unless you have a lock up converter, it will never transfer 100% of the power. Just 100% of the power it is capable) The stall rating is just the point when the converter is transfering all the power it can. So you want to pick a converter based on what RPM your power band is, cam, turbo and what not. A converter is the first thing you should go for if your are planning on running an automatic for drag. To sum it up. They won't give you more power, they will help you utlize the power that you have

So if i replace the torque converter i get more power? Where would i find one of these, and about how much hp/torque would i gain from it on my tc? Plus, it cant be too expensive, im not exactly loaded lol.

if you want power don't get the trd exhaust, it's only axle back. if you get the header either buy a premade exhaust from the header back (i think there is a company making one now). or have a muffler shop make you a custom system, just make sure it's mendrel bent.
