F it, I bought a BOMZ..
i agree...somewhat.
yes all the piping is the same, but ebay parts always seem to have way worse fitment, so basically your paying the extra money for name brand parts to save yourself the fitment frustrations. i think you just got lucky that you didnt have any problems.

The bomz cai and aem dryflow filter should be arriving monday. I'll let you guys know how it turns out. First engine mod of my life we'll see what happens. Also I was told by the ebay seller that the bomz cai is a 2.5 inch pipe for anyone interested
Well you guys are partially right. A pipe is a pipe. but there are minor differences. Injen isnt the same as the ebay kind it has different length at where the maf part fits. Also ebay intake doesnt have an inner chamber like WR
lol jp. Not that its a big difference im just pointing it out. Anyway i had an ebay intake on my old S13. Worked fine.. Tell us how u like it later. Peace

people say all you're doing is paying for the badge when you buy something like the injen, but in reality, we're paying for the amount of research these big companies, fujita, injen, aem all put into making the intake for our car to make everything work without problems.
A CAI is a CAI, the filter is what makes the biggest difference. I have an ebay HPS CAI / SRI. It was like $130 and is just a replica of the Injen for a fraction of the price. I've had it on for 6 months - 6K miles with absolutely no problems and no fitment problems. Glad i didn't waste the money on an Injen.
Yeah ive heard that same ____ brought up to homies at WR or the injen people i met at HIN. They say it sucks because alot of those ebay companys just steal the design from them and market it for cheaper. Lobster is right, We pay for the R&D time they put in, Then ebay just jacks their mold. or design or wtv. So its cheaper since they dint do any R&D anyway im not trying to complain, just pointing out what i heard. My 240 had a ebay pipe with KN filter worked fine. Let us kno how u liked the bomz. Peace
I bought a cheap ebay short ram about a year ago and its still working great
No check engine light ,no mass air flow problems.
I think I paid like $30 shipped and it came with a filter
I had a Fujita kit and noticed no differance.
I guess the people who make a big deal about buying a name brand like paying to much for a part that will add about 2hp in real life situations

Yeah i think a CAI or SRI is the only engine/performance piece I would trust getting off ebay though cuz theres not a whole lot to it. As long as you don't get an ebay header or exhaust you're all good.
actually. the filter isnt the only thing that matters...
if the metal quality or finish is sub par it could deteriorate over time and get sucked into the motor, which could lead to a host of other problems. but the likely hood of that is pretty slim.
another point is piping size and MAF placement. and this doesnt matter if its bob and larry's intake company or Injen, piping size and MAF placement determine where in the power band you will see gains. since none of these intakes REALLY give u any extra power that you'll SEE on a tC. however changing the piping size at the MAF makes the car meter the air differently and can effectively move the power higher or lower in the rpms. changing your meatiest areas of tq/hp. this isnt always a bad thing. ie: i bought the TRD intake cuz its 2.5 and for what i want it gives me more meat in the midrange of the rpms while injen is supposed to give more top end with its 3 inch'ness. in autoX and circuit cross your in the mid-range 60-70 percent of the time so tahts where i desired my tq and engine response to be best at. if u drag, u'll want more top. but i dont do that much anymore so i dont mind the sacrifice...if u can call a 15.1 with just i/h/e a sacrifice...
its all in what u want. but i dont like skimping on car parts. i did that with wheel lugs and piad the price....3 times.
