Default Forced Induction Roll Call for the tC!

Any members out there Turbo Charge or Super Charge their tC yet?

I am curious to know if any of you have gotten your tC turbo kits and if so how do you like it?

I personally have has mine since Christmas last year and I've had my up's and down's with it, but now it works great and its definitely fun.

Best part is when I smoke drivers that have way more expensive cars than mine. I am sure those guys are thinking "a just a scion weak!" and them PPPSSSHHHHH all over them ahahahahaha

Anyways share some stories guys and gals I want to hear the verdicts.

Quite from your info section...

"
This is me at the Scion Winter Bash where I won 1st place for best engine. I was showing my Stage 3 Turbo setup. On my Scion tC."

You also say that you have an intercooler, and a CAI, which I though would not work with aforced induction setup. We needs some pics to believe you.

It would go like this:

CAI --> Turbo(Compressor) --> Intercooler --> Throttlebody --> Whiplash! --> Manifold --> Turbo(Turbine) --> Exhaust

I was wondering if this or if he can make a sticky topic about turbo setups,

Like an explicit list, of the different parts you would need to buy to make your own turbo kit.

I really would like to start on my own kit, but i dont know what to start with.

I bought a book about f/i's but i was wondering how you went about doing it.

I am sorry if this might take you awhile but i believe you are one of the first to do it as a private owner, and i beleive everyone is very interested on how you did this. Atleast i am!

thanks

I was sponsored by a local shop. I personally wouldnt know how to install a custom turbo on a tC but now that its in there and the dirty work is done its very easy to maintain and even easier to clean up I will take new pics of my engine today and post them tonight it looks sooo much better you guys will like it.

i dont like the set up... looks like they kinda just whipped it together.... look at the hoses all over the lplace.... you would figure they find a better way to route them so it would clean up the engine more.... now since you've had it on for a while have they taken a look at your stock internals to see how there holding up... also when you tuned where did they set your boost at and how much can you actually boost... also did you change out your clutch...... and I dont think i have seen you post a dyno... not much to take it and get some runs in......have you taken it to the track and if so what are you running and at what psi.... also if you have where you on drags or on factory... can you throw down a part list to see what they used....... thats tight that your boosted though... i would love to sneeze on fools..... im guessing your pushing around 205-215 daily..... hopefully more but not to much cuz you dont wanna blow that engine.....

Actually dj I am looking at getting a local shop to tune my car probably this month. The shop is called bottle blown racing and they are located in camarillo, ca the owner is names tommy he said he would be willing to tune my car. I am going to see him tomorrow after work he will tune my car and check where he can alter some programming to get me some more horsies and even out my gas consumption because I am running RICH! and with the current gas prices its killing me.

Oh as for the internals the only thing giving out a tad bit is my clutch everything else is GREAT! Yea I know my setup looks simple and rather messy but to the people who actually buy the kits this shop made they will get chromed out tubular manifolds and basically a way nicer looking set up they just wanted to make a prototype and see how it held up. www.turboperformance.com is teh shop and soon he will post the turbo kit for sale its going to be very similar to the other kits out there in terms of price but his will only be a stage 2 like mine but way cleaner and at a pretty darn good price too. He said was was thinking of about 2500 to 3500 he wants to stay in that range he was talking about 2500 to 3000 plus an extra 350-500 for install and tune.
