Free mods?

Does anybody know if there's anything you can do to the 2azfe performance wise for free or very cheap? Like any adjustments or anything like that... I'm not stingy I just to get the most out of my motor before I start dropping mad cash.

remove your paper air filter. take off the sound insulation part of the intake. paint your wheels. remove axleback. remove spare and back seat cuz weight sucks

Spicy_McHaggiz 09-13-2010 12:24 AM

Remove your paper air filter? No. Leave the filter in the car. A cheap drop in filter from K&N won't gain you anything besides being able to clean it.

Removing the axle back will make the car sound like crap and get you tickets.

Painting wheels is ricey.

If you want to mod your car, you need money. Theres simply no way around it.

Blue_TC_Man 09-13-2010 03:21 AM

Custom turbo kit. I built mine for 1500 bucks, make 297whp 287wtq, with no problems

Bertmagik 09-13-2010 11:07 PM

i already have a cold air intake. and i agree painting the wheels is totally ricey. lol As for all the dicks with their jokes... i already have 1 sticker and it didnt do anything :(

FlintMica2005 09-13-2010 11:13 PM

its better then being more of a dick by asking what you can do for "free" to get power

Young-Gun 09-13-2010 11:51 PM

Put coffee grinds inside your intake. Works like NOS.

but seriously turbo it.

JCarroll839 09-14-2010 04:24 AM

search free mod's.

All that amounts to is a home depot lip, taking out the "Silencer" in the stock intake system... and losing some weight.

FlintMica2005 09-14-2010 04:39 PM

silencer in stock intake? WTF are you talking about lol

Theres a little box you can take off and plug with a sink plug, taking out the "silencer."

Honestly it doesnt even do anything, I'm just too lazy to put it back on, and it was something to do when I was bored.

FlintMica2005 09-14-2010 04:56 PM

LOL i still have no clue what your talking about, hmmm i need to find pics of a stock intake to see

Here ill grab you a link to the thread I read it from.

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...ntake+silencer

Note the sink plug, thats basically what my intake looks like right now.
:P

in place of the plug on stock intakes theres a box that connects to the hole, although honestly I'm not too sure what the whole point of the box itself is, works fine without it.

wlfpck 09-15-2010 12:03 AM

The box that comes after the sensor is your resonator.

Bertmagik 09-16-2010 05:43 AM

The reason I'm asking is I was playin with my buddy's evo10 and we made his turbo only taper down to 18 psi instead of the factory 16 and didn't cost a dime... I didn't know if there was anything of that nature you could do.
